I didn't hesitate to stop by for dumplings because I have tried the Wan Chai branch before.
The menu is slightly different here as they serve mainly dumplings and noodles.
The WanChai branch serves more variety like the delicious toffee apples which I went twice for.

Got the different pan fried dumplings, the egg and tomato and the lamb with a beef broth.
The egg and tomato one was really good and it was tasty enough without sauce.
I also had the beef broth which was really strong and salty.
It was hard to choose because I wanted the vegetarian dumpling as well.

Also had the chicken, cucumber and flat bean sheets in sesame sauce which was presented neatly in the dish.
It tasted nice and not too heavy.

The Spicy pork knuckles was promising, when it arrived it looked soft like steamed chicken feet in black bean sauce and it definitely was soft and delicious.
It came with a delicious gravy which went well with the noodles.

Trying something different

Tulsi Indian Restaurant is basically my canteen for Indian food.
Everytime I come here, I just have rice, butter chicken, saag paneer etc.

This time I decided to go for different dishes for a change.
The guy was amazing, he didn't even have to jot down my order and he remembered everything.

Started with the samosa which were generously big filled with fluffy spiced potatoes and peas complimented with a sweet mint sauce.

I also ordered raita which goes with everything.

For the mains, had the beef masala with Kashmiri naan.
The curry was well spiced with a hint of lemongrass.

The Kashmiri naan which was stuffed with coconut and fruit looked and tasted interesting.
The filling was bright orange and it tasted like Chinese steamed custard buns but with a crisp chewy naan bread texture.

Ended the meal with lemon soda, coffee lassi and mango smoothie.

They also had buttermilk which is lassi flavoured with cumin, chilis and spices similar to the Jal Jeera.
I got the same funny reaction like you won't want to order that lol!

Went here for a quick lunch.
Had the vegetarian breakfast because it had mushrooms and pumpkins.
The scrambled egg was nicely done.

As well as the breakfast, I had the prawn baguette which was really good because there was lots of dill and I love that herb.

[Review 5403] Thai noodles @ 榶意泰式粉麵

Tried to go here a few days ago but it was closed.
Luckily there was a good noodle shop nearby and I had the $99 afternoon tea set at Spade by Lassana so I didn't waste my journey.
Went again and luckily it was open.
The staff here were really nice.
It was quite hot eating there because I sat outside.
Anyway, I ordered the Thai noodles with marinated duck and crispy pork.
It was nice that they give you blood curds.

The pork was crispy and deliciouis without being too fat or salty.

The duck was disappointing because it was just skin and bones and I don't know how to eat skin and bones.
The only piece that did have a bit of meat was delicious and tasty.

There were some sauces on the table which make the noodles even more delicious if you add them.

[Review 5402] The land of drunks @ Drunkerland

After openrice changed the website, the new restaurant list doesn't show up new restaurants like it used to.
It now shows new restaurants with the most reviews which is extremely annoying so you have to go to the very back of the list to see new restaurants which don't really show up and if you don't have the phone app, this website is pretty hard to use.

Drunkerland is obviously the land of drunks yet I was sober.
Anyway, my friend asked me to go to this new place so I thought cool, but when they said they were going for skewers it was not so cool.
They then reassured me, there was other stuff to eat!
Well there was Chips and gravy so I was sorted.
No pain, no gain!!

The drinks menu was really comprehensive, they had their own brewed beers and beers from different countries.
My friend had the house beer which in my opinion was very bitter, but the Hong Kong style glass was nice with the Lion Rock and Chinese wording on the back.

For me I had the Ar Me which was a sweet strawberry mocktail.

Lets start with the gravy and chips first because all I wanted to eat was the chips!!
The chips were a bit different, it was baked with cheese and rosemary on top with a side of gravy.
Quite nice!

The second dish that I really liked was the okra on ice served with wasabi soy sauce, it was simple was damn delicious.

The third dish that was amazing was the grilled fish, it was just divine on its own that it didn't need any sauce.

Well for me I was sorted because I got my fish and chips.
At first I thought it was fish covered in Mayo because the menu said that but mayo is a Chinese fish.

The rest of the stuff they ordered was grilled skewers which were crisp and grilled nicely with grilled pork belly, chicken skin, beef, cartilage and even the asparagus on the side was good.

There was Typhoon soft shell crab which was interesting because it came with a side of chopped onions, garlic and peppers which complemented it nicely.

The fried beancurd skins rolls were ok but a bit oily but the peppery sauce was the star of the show because it went well with the chips and other items.

An interesting beer joint with a bit of everything on the menu!
The chairs were stylish.
