I don't often go to rice noodle shops because I don't eat thick rice noodles.
Previously been to the TKO branch for snacks only.
Seeing that they have a new menu and noodles other than rice noodles I gave it a try.
Started with Soya Milk and Cucumber which was a really nice drink muddled with fresh cucumbers that was soothing and not too sweet.

Here is the Inaniwa Udon, an addition to their rice noodles
The texture was a bit like tagliatelle in soup but I liked it.

The other delicious new item was the Signature Dan Dan Mixian with Hot & Spicy Pork Chop.
I found the broth really spicy and the rest of the spicy items really spicy even though I can eat spicy foods.
The pork chop coated in potato flour were a must eat because it is crispy on the outside and the pork was juicy and tender inside.

Mixian with U.S. Beef & Fish Tofu in Hot & Spicy Tomato Soup:
My friend had this but as I said the spicy items were really spicy.
Jumbo Dumplings in Coriander Broth:
These dumplings were huge filled with Korean glass vermicelli.
The broth was not spicy so this is as good option and you can request it without the coriander if you don't like it.
Sichuan Spicy Chicken:
Very spicy!~
Spicy platter with marinated pig intestines, beef, Chinese radishes.
Spicy!!
Sliced Pork in Spicy Garlic Sauce:
Spicy again!

I tried to list this ages ago on openrice but it got rejected, now it is on the list I can't find those photos.
Had the fried shaomai which was really crispy but tasteless, however there are lots of sauces that you can use.

[Review 5431] Noodles in snail soup @ 柳園菜館 Lau Yuen Restaurant

A foodie friend told me about these spiral shell noodles which in Chinese is pronounced "lore see fun" so I thought she meant fuscilli but it turns out that the broth is stewed with snails hence the name but there are no physical snail pieces in the noodle.
Anyway, decided to try give this place a try.
About half of the menu is spicy, so I chose some vegetables and sweet and sour pork.
Started with the Liuzhou spiral shell noodles which have an overwhelming smell that stinks the place if you don't like it and I would describe this smell similar to urine.
I believe the culprit was the bamboo shoots.
The soup was quite salty so the noodles were quite tasty but I couldn't taste any spiral shells in the broth as it was quite spicy.
The Peanut in vinegar were not sour.
As for the Sweet potato leaves with marinated bamboo shoots, it also had that smell and the whole dish was very oily.
The sweet and sour pork was very likeable and it had osmanthus flowers in the sauce and the pork was nice and crispy but too fatty for my liking.
Finished with the Pineapple and orange juice drink which tasted like squash.
I think we chose the wrong stuff this time so I probably want to come back and try the Spiral shell soup and duck's feet in spiral shell pot for a proper Liuzhou experience.

Went here for Teppanyaki and my food was cooked by a female Chef called Circle.

It was fun watching her skilfully serve each course.

Looking at the menu, there were various sets and the even have a set for vegetarians which I really wanted to order because it had lots of tofu dishes.
Unfortunately, the vegetarian set had to be reserved in advance.

In the end I had the Teppanyaki Wagyu set..

The good thing is that they are quite flexible with the set menus so if there is something you don't eat they can change it.
There is a Western touch to the dishes so you will find lobster bisque and mushroom soup on the menu!
Here was what I had in the Teppanyaki Wagyu set.
Started off with Sashimi salad (hokkaido scallop and tuna).
The leaves were crisp and sweet with pieces of fresh sashimi.

For soup, I went for the Japanese milky fish soup which was divine because I love fish soup with a touch of ginger.
0 讚好
It was paired with Signature Italian toast topped with tomato salsa.

Next I had the baked flaming Hiroshima oyster in aluminium foil which was set alight before they serve it.
The oyster was really flavourful with a smoky taste and crispy dried shrimps on top..

The Deep sea grouper fillet with sundried tomato and tartar sauce was interesting because the sundried tomato gave it this Mediterranean touch.
The unami taste of the tomato and fish went together well.

The Japanese kobe pork sliced rolls were light and springy on a bed of julienne cabbage.

The Japanese Kagoshima A4 steak was cut into cubes and each cube of beef was juicy with beef oils melting in your mouth paired with fancy salt and wasabi.

After having the beef, the grilled veggies helped to balance the meats.

Finished off with a filling Lady Fried rice which had tiny fishes that represent the Lady.
I found the fried rice a bit too sweet for my liking because of the sweet pieces of radish.

Last but not least, it was fun watching the Doriyaki pancakes being made and she had this cute ladle which holds just enough mixture to make the pancake.
I chose the salted icecream which complemented it nicely and it was really good that the red beans were separate so you can mix and match with the pancakes.
In addition to the Wagyu set, I also tried the slow cooked abalone which was cooked in glass plastic with konbu giving it a lovely flavour.
When it was served, there was delicious foam which made it even silkier and the cod roe gave it an extra saltiness to it.

Exclusive to this branch only, they serve breakfast and I have always wanted to try it.
Finally made it in the nick of time with 3 minutes to spare.
I ordered the Meat lovers which is a muffin with Irish sausage patty, bacon, egg and aged cheddar.
The chef probably had monday blues because he forgot the bacon.
Told him and the bacon was back.
It was better than I expected especially the sausage patty because it tasted like it had pickles in it with touch of sourness.
The bacon was quite sweet but it was lean.
I also had the hash brown but I didn't like it because it was just the usual hash brown and it looked different to the one on their website.
Food was good as usual but the place lacked air con and my hash brown was totally different.

Unluckily but luckily the hair was black or I would not have seen it!

Tried the new Tropicavo chicken burger which is a crispy chicken patty topped with avocado, a slice of cheese, mayonnaise and some orange sauce.
The box was quite cute.
The paper wrap was also nicely presented, on one side it is avocado for this burger and the other side has pineapples for the prawn burger.
I was lucky at this branch because they put quite a bit of sauce which differs in different branches.
The burger tasted quite salty and I couldn't quite taste the avocado.
