I was really excited when this opened because there used to be a good lobster noodle place but it closed down.

Anyway, here comes Dragon Noodles Academy where they specialize in lobster as well as noodles.

Inside the restaurant, it is almost like a Martial arts academy with Chinese weapons , Wingchun wooden dummy and food related to martial arts.

++++

berry wintermelon:

Presented like a bunch of grapes these are balls of wintermelon soaked in berry sauce giving it a tangy berry flavour but also quite sweet.

cauliflower florets in yoghurt:

I thought this would be interesting so ordered it.

It was yellow and purple raw cauliflower florets in a refreshing yoghurt and I loved it because they had a nice crunch.

cucumber florets in lemon:

Another refreshing appetizer of cucumber that looks like it has been put through a pencil sharpener.

They were good with or without the lemon sauce.

++++

lobster puff:

Similar to the usual white radish puff but filled with lobster so it was a posh version.

As well as this, there are other lobster themed items such as lobster dumplings, spicy tofu and lobster etc.

++++

Whole Peking duck with pancakes:

The duck was served in a really good way because it is separated in three plates: crispy duck skin, pure duck meat and duck thigh which has skin attached.

There are three ways of eating it, duck skin dipped in raw cane sugar, duck meat with freshly garlic puree and duck with pancakes.

For the pancakes, you get some sesame paste and duck sauce where you use your martial art skills to swirl or spin the sauce dish so that they mix together.

After spinning/swirling it.

++++

baby cabbage florets with ham:

Very photogenic cabbage florets in a strong ham broth.

++++

Lobster tail noodle soup:

Noodles in a rich lobster broth that you won't want to share with anyone!~

For dessert, here was what we had:

Green tea blossom icecream cookie crumble.

It was topped with crispy snow fungus that had a red and green colour!!

Will go again soon!~!~

$48 is quite reasonable for a shabu shabu.
You get noodles, beef and vegetables.
The taste was ok but I chose the wrong broth which ruined it.
The broth was too sweet for my liking.
This branch is small and cramped but close to the MTR station which is good,

Thanks to a fellow foodie for getting me this limited edition of Christian Action 基督教勵行會 x 奇華餅家 Kee Wah Bakery's Season of Love crispy egg rolls gift box illustrated by Mango Naoko.
Inside the box, there is a $50 cash coupon for the Christian Action community sales outlets plus a greeting card.

There are two flavours: coffee and butter
The coffee roll was quite interesting, it was crispy with a bitter coffee taste.

It is all about food trends in Hong Kong.
After a spate of lobster openings in Hong Kong, there is now Hungry lobster and now there are two lobster joints on this street so competition is fierce.
At hungry lobster, there is comfy seating and the menu is diverse.

The decor is interesting and I can't quite understand the fish on the ceiling and not lobsters, but the ropes and decor remind me of this crab joint at Quarry Bay.
That day I had lobster bisque, lobster pasta and fries.

To be honest if you are deciding between the pasta and lobster roll, I would recommend the lobster roll because you can really taste and see the lobster in the roll, whereas the pasta was over powered by the freshly chopped garlic and there were only a few pieces of lobster in it.

The lobster bisque was rich and salty so I put that in my pasta which was lacking lobster taste and it really enhanced it.
I also dipped my fries in the thick lobster bisque and it worked like a good gravy.

Apart from Art Basel and Central arts fair you can also see art exhibited at The Popsy Room.
It is a multi sensory gallery, by day it is an art exhibition and at night you can enjoy dinner in this fabulous gallery.
The current dining adventure features Chocolate Rain by Prudence Mak.

Here was what I had for dinner that night.

Lobster Carpaccio:

I loved the lobster carpaccio as it was flawless with bursts of saltiness from the caviar.

++++

Roasted sweetcorn soup:

The colour was a bit dark for sweetcorn but they said the sweetcorn was roasted to a certain degree before being made soup.
The soup was really sweet with a strong sweetcorn taste and I loved the cheesy cracker on top decorated with popcorn.

Oven baked whole Barbary duck with honeycomb, crosne, salsify and chestnut:

The barbary duck was really tasty paired with a piece of sweet honeycomb and sweet chestnuts.
I loved the crosne tubers because they looked cute and tasted like potatoes.

++++

Osmanthus and fermented rice souffle:

The sweetness of the souffle was just right with a subtle Osmanthus taste but the souffle could have risen better as it was empty in the middle.

For Christmas, there will be a 6-course drunken Rudolf Christmas Menu or an 8 course Bathing Lobster menu.

(both to be booked in advance.)

The one we had was a four course menu.

J.Co Donuts & Coffee from Indonesia

I am so glad that this donut shop from Indonesia has landed in HK.

There must be so many other good eateries in Southern Asia that haven't made it to boring Hong Kong yet.

Anyway, they have two types of donuts, the ring donuts and the filled donuts.

There were two filled donuts I had to try because one had pandan and the other was avocado.

The filled ones are lovely but the cream inside is that nasty plastic fake stuff.

The ring donuts fared much better and I have yet to try the glazed ring and Berry spears.

I think the sweetness is just right because I was able to eat four donuts in one go whereas Krispy Kreme I can manage half a donut.

It was hilarious when the staff dropped the last box of baby donuts on the floor!

I wonder if this donut joint will cause crazy queues like KK did and whether Michele Reis (leegayan)  will come here for a donut.
More pics on my blog.

I am so glad there is another vegetarian joint with good food at a reasonable price.
Went there late in the afternoon so it was quite empty.

As I was there myself, I went to sit at a small table for two but I contemplated whether to sit there or not because the previous person left a carton of drink obviously not from the restaurant.
After I sat down, I told the waitress to clear the table and her response was like as if I put it there so my feelings were correct that I shouldn't have chosen that table.

Anyway, apart from her, the rest of the staff were nice.
It was difficult making a choice because there were so many dishes I wanted to order.
In the end I ordered the flat rice noodles with black bean sauce over the Singapore rice noodles.
The taste was really good because the black bean sauce was rich with fragrant sweet peppers alone.
As for the soy pieces, it had a strong five spice powder flavouring to it.
