I have been planning to come here for months but they didn't respond on their FB so I decided to try this when I had time because it is not exactly close to the MTR.
The first time I went there, they didn't accept credit card so came back again about a month later when I remembered.
The joint is a little unfriendly because the front door is very narrow and doesn't fully open with a stool blocking part of the entrance.
When you arrive, the counter facing the front which seemingly looks like a counter is not.
The counter is right in the middle so if there are some customers sitting in the middle, the ORDER HERE sign is hidden and no one greeted me so I didn't know I was supposed to order at the counter.
Anyway, I sat down and luckily a customer passed me a menu otherwise I probably would have walked out.
Finally I was told to order at the counter and did, after ordering, they had to fumble for change so I wonder if they were there to do business.
My pasta took quite long but my friend who went a day earlier told me it took ages so I was ok with it.
The taste was really good especially the fermented rice sauce which gave a full flavour to the pasta and the sauce was so good I drank the sauce as well.

Went here again during the weekday for the tea set because it is nice and quiet.

The tea set has a good mix of savouries and sweets.
I always start off with the savouries. There was egg and mayo croissant, tuna sandwich with thai herbs and a sefood roll.

The savouries at Spade by Lassana are always good, my favourite was the croissant.

Then I moved on to the second plate which was chocolate brownies and blueberry icecream.

The blueberry icecream was amazing, it tasted like Yoplait's forest fruit yoghurt and it wasn't too sweet.

The top plate was fruit tarts and cheesecake and the cheesecake was fluffy like a marshmallow, you won't know what I mean unless you have put your fork into it because it is that soft.

I stayed for quite a long time so I had the chestnut cake as well which had lots of chestnut puree and I loved the chocolate cake layers in between.

New flavours at Noah Castella

Noah Castella has been around for quite a while but this is my first cake from them.
I never intended to try them before because they one had one flavour and I assumed it would be the soft Japanese cheesecake texture.

Recently found out they had this new Earl Grey tea cake so decided to give it a try.

The cake was surprisingly good because the texture was like cake and it wasn't dense.

In the middle it was slightly runny.

As for the taste, I loved it because it had a strong Earl Grey tea taste and it wasn't to sweet as stated.
I got the bottled drink because I liked the glass bulb bottle.

Toyosu Suisan has been a success since they opened with fresh ingredients imported from Japan.

Now there is a second branch in Yau Ma Tei conveniently located near the MTR exit.

I attended the opening in mid Jan where they kicked off with a drum performance and preparation of a whole Maguro which was served that day.
After watching the performance, I went upstairs and had the Flying Maguro bowl with soup.

It was just simply delicious because all the ingredients were fresh with diced cucumbers, fresh yam, abalone, maguro, prawn, salmon roe and egg.The salmon roe was just amazing and bursts in your mouth with saltiness.


I was surprised they also throw in the abalone liver and the size is quite big in comparison to the abalone.


Last but not least was the soup which was rich in flavour.

You are supposed to drink the soup first but I prefer to eat first as the soup fills my stomach.

The Korean food here is quite good so I am surprised why they don't have another branch.
Anyway, they have a good range of non spicy dishes to choose from.
Went here on a Saturday evening and it was packed with people but the food came surprisingly fast and the staff were really friendly.


Here was what we had:

Purple sweet potato mochi:

As well mochi, there was Caesar salad in the middle which makes it value for money.

The sweet mochi tasted good but I would classify this as a dessert more than an appetizer.

Noodles in a creamy squid ink sauce topped with blue mussels:

This dish was surprisingly good because the sauce was tasty and each strand was covered in thick sauce.

Fried chicken with bread and lava cheese:
This was my favourite because it had all my favourite items: fried chicken, crispy bread and CHEESE!~

The fried chicken was not so spicy and it was tender springy pieces of thigh meat which was delicious dipped in the cheesy sauce.

After finishing the cheese and chicken, I was left with yummy crusty bread covered in yummy cheese.

There was plenty of melted cheese in the middle so I thought it was fun to make it flow out.


For those who want to try the inverted bottle drink and don't drink alcohol, this is the solution because they have a non alcoholic lemon strawberry and passionfruit soda.
It tasted damn good like a fruit punch.
