Valentines edible diamond cake

At the cake shop, they have a lovely pink cake for Valentines.It is a pretty pink cushion with a huge diamond sitting on a strip of pretty lace.
Every part of it is edible and the diamond is made of chocolate covered in edible pearlescent coating.I was really impressed with this cake because it tasted light and not too sweet made with berry mousse and a layer of cake in the middle.(unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the middle because it was so delicious that I ate it all)

[Review 5752] The art of Chinese tea @ 鳳凰茶苑 Phoenix Tea

As well as English Tea I also love to drink Chinese tea.

If I knew this place existed, I would have come earlier but luckily I discovered it just after attending a Chinese Tea course at Landmark.

At Phoenix Tea, you will find that it is a formal tea house where you can truly appreciate tea because they don't serve food although they do have some simple dried fruit and nuts to go with the teas.

Phoenix Tea is located in TST and recognized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board as a Quality Merchant.

The tea house mainly sells high-end Merrylong Wu Yi Rock Tea and Feng Huang Black Tea and they also provide a VIP area and an education corner for organising exhibitions, courses and seminars on Chinese rock tea culture.

I found it very educational to see the tea roasters and types of rocks on display.
There were lots of different teapots and cups.
For beginners, they have tea sets with dried fruits to nibble on.

I chose the set which had two teas so I could try two.

The staff will demonstrate how to make the first round.

The first tea I tried was the Cassia Ya grade.

It had a nice bitterness it.
The second tea I had was the Lapsang SouChong black tea from the Wuyi region in China.
It had an interesting smoky taste.
I really enjoyed this experience because it is a true place where you can concentrate on drinking tea so I will be back to try some other teas.

Unfortunately, this branch is not as good as the other branches.
As soon as you sit down, they will give you a bowl of pumpkin soup even if you are not ready to order or haven't ordered.
The pumpkin soup here is watered down compared to KS and SK and it tasted artificially sweetened.
I forgot to take a photo but I had to request for more spring onion and ginger puree because the amount on the sauce dish was incredibly stingy.
The rice was too hard which ruined my appetite.

I first tried this in SK and the chicken was really good, however SK is so inconvenient that it is a waste of time going there for food.
Discovered this in KS so went in.
As soon as you sit down, they will give you a bowl of pumpkin soup even if you are not ready to order or haven't ordered.

The pumpkin soup was good, lots of pumpkin and it even has pumpkin seeds which are quite delicious but you can't eat the shell.

I had the chicken and pork patties.
Here was my delicious plate of juicy chicken breast as requested.
It was so soft and juicy which is much better than skin and bones.
For $10 more you can request for dark meat which is guaranteed a waste of money paying for skinny chicken with bones and skin.
The pork patties were consistently good, thin and crispy with a fragrant salted fish taste.

This used to be my regular place for proper Greasy spoon food but it deteriorated two years ago so I stopped going.
Went again because I just miss my English food.
Without any expectations it was better this time.
The chips were the thin ones because they ran out of the usual ones and they were blonde and not over done.
The curry chicken was too salty but tasted good especially the carrots and curry gravy.

Great [FUSH] and Chips three years running

This is probably my fifth time here since they opened in 2014.

Suddenly felt like fish and chips so came here because the fish batter is light and crisp.

The place is bigger and better and they even sell paua fritters for $40 which is black abalone!!!

The fish and chips were consistently good but seeing photos of the chips in different shades of colour, I requested my chips blonde.
I think I will ask for platinum blonde next time because I don't like chips too crispy.

The fish was good as expected and I had HOKI which was the cheapest and it has a texture like COD which is firm and flaky.

Anyway, I'll be back for the PAUA FRITTER!

This joint is from NZ and they pronounce FISH as FUSH whereas we Brits pronouce it as FISH.

[Review 5747] Fxxking good @ 何蘭正 65 Peel

In English this place is called 65 Peel, in Chinese, it is called 何蘭正 so if you don't pronounce it properly it sounds like ho lun jeng which has a similar meaning to Fxxking good.
The food didn't disappoint and quite a few dishes were damn good and memorable.
Evidently they are creative if you look at the photos before like the lobster hotdog which uses fried doughsticks instead of the usual bun.

They have discontinued this item but the items we had were equally as good.
Started with drinks first while looking at the menu.
At first the drinks list seems complicated but then I figured it was a table with origin, alc vol etc.
I chose the Lemon Lime Hop (AUS)  and the Dry Fresh apple Cider (UK).

Just tried a sip of the Cider and it was wonderful because you can taste the apple juice, as for the Lemon Lime Hop, it tasted a bit like beer with some bitterness and the sweetness strangely tasted like grapes.

Here was what we had:

++++++++

Molten Cheese with apricot:
 0 讚好

The cheese was runny inside as stated on the menu because when I picked it up, I accidentally broke the breadcrumb coating and cheese oozed out. These bites were delicious with the apricot beneath it and the best thing is that the apricots are real halved apricots and not puree.

+++++++++

20 Hours Beef cheek truffle pasta:
 0 讚好

This was amazing, everything was in harmony from the earthy mushrooms, the soft beef and the pasta itself.

I loved the pasta they used because they chose a linguine that is really fine in width which hangs all the sauce when you eat it.

+++++++++++++

Typhoon Shelter M6 Wagyu Beef:

I was recommended this and it was brilliant. To me Typhoon shelter dishes are dry cooked with crispy garlic and black bean but the Wagyu beef came in this delicious gravy.

The tofu blocks were a bonus because I thought it was just going to be plain beef in this dish but these pieces of tofu are damn addictive because the texture is soft inside and it soaks that delicious sauce.

++++++++++

We also had the 24 month Iberico Bikini that came with a modern twist because the Iberico was crispy which made it like posh bacon.

++++++++++

For desserts we had Churros with salty egg yolk and caramel sauce and the Dark beer tiramisu.

The Churros were the best I have had, they were coated in a lovely sugar cinnamon coating that didn't make it too sweet while the sauce carried a slight bitterness which works well together.

The tiramisu was light and the sponge was literally soaked with black beer.

Strangely I could taste orange in it as well.

I will definitely be back to try the chicken because they said it was the signature dish.
