Previously went to Leitung but didn't realize there was a boat over here hence this second trip.
Discovered this place because I took advantage of the half fare MTR promotion and went to LeiTung where I got the boat over.
I don't know how long this joint has been around but there are no reviews.
Decided to try this place because it stood out selling Hong Kong style fast food with a modern lcd screen showing the food they had.
Decided to get the fish maw mock fin soup and the beancurd skin wontons.
It took a while because the wontons were made to order.
++++
beancurd skin wontons:
The beancurd skin was so crispy that the edges came off when you took it out but it was so delicious because it was so crispy and light.
The filling they put inside the beancurd skin was well chosen because it was the fish paste that you find stuffed into tofu, green peppers etc so it had this lovely fish taste.
++++
The fish maw mock fin soup was just the usual, the texture was very thick and gummy, perhaps the fish maw got completely dissolved.
Since I had lots of beancurd skin crumbs, I decided to put it in the soup.

[Review 5754] Peonia Diamond tea set @ Lion Rock

On my last visit I was captivated by the sparkling display at the entrance of the hotel displaying this pretty Peonia Diamond Jewellery box and some of the tea set items which have this edible diamond.
This gorgeous box worth $550 is yours if you get the tea set for two which costs $508 including drinks.
For Valentines they will have something special.
Went there during the CNY and it was evidently busy but I got a nice table with a view of the trains going into infinity.
Here was the tea set.
Started with the savoury first.
Began with this girly burger which was made with beetroot hence the pink colour, inside it was this juicy chicken roll with truffle.
The scones were paired with clotted cream and jam.
The rolls in the middle were sushi rice rolls with juicy wagyu beef in the middle.
At the front, were these delish tarts filled with truffle mash topped with lobster and asparagus.
Moving on to the second tier, there was melon wrapped in parma ham, seared scallop on top of beetroot polenta, toast with crystal prawns in a strawberry bacon sauce.
The sweet pieces were a tiramisu cake held in this chocolate shell and the raspberry and white chocolate tart.
Now to the top tier and the best part because everything is so beautiful especially the butter cupcakes with the peony flower buttercream on top and the edible diamond cake.
The 70% Amedei chocolate mousse cake was rich yet divine to eat.
Here is a closer look at the white chocolate covered strawberry and the cupcake.
They were all too beautiful to eat but I ate them all.
For drinks, there is a choice of refreshing grapefruit fashion which is alcoholic or the snow grey which is blended oreo, Movenpick vanilla icecream and milk.
The grapefruit fashion is healthy with a mix of grapefruit juices, lemon and lime with an alcoholic twist.
This is definitely the the best tea set I have tried because it is very memorable as you get the Jewelry box which is definitely a girls best friend as well as diamonds.

At the cake shop, they have a lovely pink cake for Valentines. It is a pretty pink cushion with a huge diamond sitting on a strip of pretty lace.
Every part of it is edible and the diamond is made of chocolate covered in edible pearlescent coating.I was really impressed with this cake because it tasted light and not too sweet made with berry mousse and a layer of cake in the middle.(unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the middle because it was so delicious that I ate it all)

[Review 5752] The art of Chinese tea @ 鳳凰茶苑 Phoenix Tea

鳳凰茶苑 Phoenix Tea

2/F, Kolling Centre, 77 Granville Road, Tsim Sha Tsui

As well as English Tea I also love to drink Chinese tea.
If I knew this place existed, I would have come earlier but luckily I discovered it just after attending a Chinese Tea course at Landmark.
At Phoenix Tea, you will find that it is a formal tea house where you can truly appreciate tea because they don't serve food although they do have some simple dried fruit and nuts to go with the teas.
Phoenix Tea is located in TST and recognized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board as a Quality Merchant.
The tea house mainly sells high-end Merrylong Wu Yi Rock Tea and Feng Huang Black Tea and they also provide a VIP area and an education corner for organising exhibitions, courses and seminars on Chinese rock tea culture.
I found it very educational to see the tea roasters and types of rocks on display.
There were lots of different teapots and cups.
For beginners, they have tea sets with dried fruits to nibble on.
I chose the set which had two teas so I could try two.
The staff will demonstrate how to make the first round.
The first tea I tried was the Cassia Ya grade.
It had a nice bitterness it.
The second tea I had was the Lapsang SouChong black tea from the Wuyi region in China.
It had an interesting smoky taste.
I really enjoyed this experience because it is a true place where you can concentrate on drinking tea so I will be back to try some other teas.
