I must say I am really envious of the people at LCK because D2 and all these hip restaurants were not around years ago.

It is impressive to see all these changes while some pathetic places like Kwaihing are still the same with the same crappy restaurants.

Started with the fruit punch and virgin bloody Mary. The fruit punch was really good while the bloody Mary was quite spicy.

Begin with a few starters which looked good on IG.

The Burrata from Andria with tomato and salad was very creamy and its texture was very stringy too.

The Italian octopus tentacle with chicken pea cream and thyme sauce was nice and exotic.

The fava bean and wild Italian chicory was really thick and the texture was a bit like coarsely mashed beans.

My favourite was the stuffed tortellini with pork in beef broth because I just like tortellini anything.

The Fregola with Italian red prawn could have been stronger in taste.

The Italian venison served with polenta mash is a must order because the Venison is very strong in taste yet the meat is soft and supple.
The polenta mash tasted like congee.

For dessert, had the Bavarese gjandula chocolate and hazelnut with pistachio sauce which was rich with a strong cocoa taste.

Went here to try some steaks because they seem famous for it seeing a friend went there three times in a week! :0

We had the set for two which is enough for three because the starters are quite big as well as the soups.

Started with this crispy round bun which was buttered with garlic butter.

Caesar salad:

The salad was quite decent in portion which is good because restaurants are stingy with salads and vegetables.

It was creamy with a tart caesar dressing with bacon bits.

Crab cake:

As you can see it was huge and loaded with silky crab meat.

It was a very creamy earthy mushroom soup.

Lobster soup:

The lobster soup tasted really concentrated but in a good way because it tasted like a whole lobster concentrated in one spoon with bits of lobster in it.

We upgraded our steak to the USDA Prime Grade New York strip loin which was cooked to medium rare where it was juicy, meaty and flavourful complimented deliciously with their mustard and salt.

For the sauces, I chose the pepper gravy which had a really fragrant fiery pepper taste.

Went there because Lauchingwan and Gokhoiming were there lol.
Normally they eat in SK but SK is getting crap these days so I don't blame them for getting the hell out of there.
Anyway, had the beef and tomato which comes with a whole sweet plump tomato.
Unfortunately, the rice was too soft that day or it would have been good,.
The scrambled egg with roast pork and spring onions fared better and the sweet soy sauce made it even more delicious.
They have good cutlery because I find Chinese ceramic spoons difficult to eat with.
For drinks had the lemon juice which is just lemon cordial with water.

Went here because I couldn't be bothered to queue at Waikee for liver noodles.
While I was searching for an alternative this joint stood out because it was modern and looked clean.
What was even more surprising was that the staff were formerly dressed with a tie and his hair gelled nicely.
Anyway, I had the signature noodle which does not come with much broth so it soaks up the delicious spicy sauce.
It was highly addictive but gets spicier as you eat it.
Also got the soup for $10 which is really good because my friend's coke costs $10, so for the same price, I would rather drink nourishing soup than artificial sugar.

I rarely go to Chinese bingsuts as the food there is not my cup of tea.
Recently saw people posting fancy drinks at these bingsuts served in a black and white cup so I decided to go an try it.
It was actually quite hard finding a cafe that serves it, finally did and I must have been the first to order it as their reaction was weird.
The purple potato was surprisingly nice and not too sweet but the powder has not been completely dissolved.
The green tea was too sweet and bitter because they put too much powder, after diluting it with water, it tasted better.

Apparently, they do good Cantonese BBQ so tried this place.
Started with a mix of intestines, tofu and soya egg.
The marinade was quite strong and tasty so everything well flavoured.The star of the show was the BBQ pork, it was sweet and moist, while the pork was tender and soft.The pork knuckles were a bit too elastic for my liking.
A good option for buying roast meat but it can be pricey for its location.

I used to be in Laichikok all the time, in those days there were hardly any Western restaurants and D2 didn't exist.

All that has changed and I discovered this place because there was a cat and I love cats.
(previously this place used to be Egg tart king.)
When I went in I was wowed by the huge croissant and Cantonese Pineapple bun model.
What impressed me more was that they had quiches in a seemingly Chinese bakery.
This bakery was quite famous last year for their mooncakes which came in a Vintage yet funky packaging but at that time I didn't know it was this bakery.

I got a good mix of Western and Cantonese bakery to try.

Broccoli quiche:

When I saw this, I knew it was going to be good. In fact this is the best in Hong Kong in terms of size and price.

This is the size you would get in the UK and the pastry was done just right because it was not sweet or made into a quiche tartlet which is just not a real quiche.

There were generous chunks of broccoli that were not too soft or hard and the egg filling was really tasty and you could taste the broccoli infused into it.

It was so comforting to get a good quiche that tastes like home made quiches without being too salty or sweet.

pain du chocolat:

The pain du chocolat is another European favourite and it would taste great warm when the chocolate is soft.

It had a lovely buttery aroma and the chocolate wasn't too sweet.

Cheese balls:

The puffs are basically Japanese pontikeges which are sold in the morning and normally sold out by the afternoon.

Purple potato balls:


Another treat that blew me away because it was real purple potato mash in the middle encased in this delicious flakey pastry.  Again it was not too sweet.

Chocolate bun:

The buns are basically filled Mexican buns and the chocolate one is jazzed up by the coffee powder on top with chocolate filling in the middle. On a hot day, you can expect the filling to be runny.

Custard bun:

I was so glad I got this because their custard filling is so moist and fluffy without being two sweet which makes up for the mooncakes which I didn't know about last year.

Overall, a great bakery with a good Western and Cantonese choice that is not too sweet.

The quiche is a must get at $20 a slice, where can you beat that!

I am going to be back for quiche and this coconut pandan croissant that I spotted on IG!~
