The drunken pot is well known for hotpots so not many people know about their lunch sets.
Discovered they had lunch from social media so took my brother there and currently it is nice and relaxed because not many people know about it.
As well as hotpot, they have a good variety of dishes like donburis and Chinese style steamed rice.
Didn't feel like steamed rice so got a donburi and a hotpot.
The lunch sets come with a drink, appetizer which has a salad, soup and a dumpling.

The dumplings are random, so I got the truffle while my brother got the satay beef.
The Soy Marinated Salmon Donburi was quite big in portion and the rice was wrapped with seared salmon and there was a cute rice panda beside it.

Basically salmon lovers will love this.
The Homemade Sichuan Style Spicy Hot Pot was my favourite because I like spicy hotpots.
It is just the right size for one person but can also be shared loaded with meatballs, pork skin, pork blood jelly accompanied with rice or glass vermicelli.
It was quite spicy and the glass vermicelli was the best because it absorbed the broth and was really tasty.
As well as the Sichuan pot,they have other broths.

Went into BreadTalk to have a look because occasionally they have some interesting things like iced waffles.
Although, I don't like Hong Kong style pineapple buns, I was attracted to this one because it was much smaller and filled with salted egg yolk.
On the surface, you could see that some of the filling had burst out while it was baking.
To be honest, I actually found it was quite nice because it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a delicious salted egg yolk filling and the saltiness really enhanced the taste.
For the runny effect, I think you have to heat it up.

Located on the 4th floor, I was surprised there was an outdoor area to dine and a private area near the entrance.In a way. I am fortunate that I didn't try this place when they were in Saiyingpun because this place is bigger and better.
Started with the hot pumpkin latte and sweet potato latte.
Both were good because it was made with real pumpkin and sweet potato so it didn't taste artificial.

Our choices were kimchi free because we don't eat Kimchi.
I was hyped for the jiajang noodles with seafood because the noodles were the thin type.
The sauce was strong with a lovely beany taste and it flavoured the noodles very well but it got a bit sickly towards the end because of the oil.
The glass noodles with beef was also good, it was healthy and light because the seasoning was minimalistic.
The Korean pancakes were similar to the Mexican ones with beef, vegetables and sauce but the pancake was too thick and flourly for my liking.
For dessert, it was green tea cheesecake topped with fruits.
A lovely ending.

I was really happy this dinner was good because I can't get good Western food on the Kowloon side without forking out on expensive restaurants.The mains was just the usual stuff that you would find to cater for the general HK population but the appetizers and salads were bloody amazing.

Started with the soup which was no ordinary soup, it was tomato and fennel and I love fennel and not many Chinese chefs use this herb.
It was tangy with a lovely hint of fennel.

Next, had the salad. There were two damn good choices, the falafel salad or the burrata salad.
I had the burrata salad and it was dressed with delicious sweet pesto sauce with sweet heirloom tomatoes.

I tried my friend's falafel and it was heavenly as well because the texture was extremely light and fluffy with a light crispy coating just like mashed taro dimsum puffs.
But you only get three small falafel pieces on the salad.

There was Raclette cheese toast on the menu which was so delicious if you like Cheese so I had two.
To be honest, it didn't taste like Raclette but it was real decent cheese and not processed cheese.

I didn't have any expectations for the fish and chips but it was surprisingly good.
The chips were fluffy in the middle and the fish was flakey and yummy with fish skin attached which keeps the fish flavour.
The star of the show was the Japanese kewpie mayonnaise because it works wonders with chips when you don't have real mayonnaise!
I just wish there was vinegar as well.

For dessert, I had the Funnel cake which is a must try because it is a Canadian and not many places serve it.
The presentation is a bit like a Chinese sachima and it tasted like fried extruded batter squiggles which is crispy and soft in the middle.
Normally it is served with icecream but I didn't fancy icecream so I asked them to change it to fluffy cream

Ended the meal nicely with a strong mocha with a cute pug on it .

Beer pong and pool with Thai food!

My friends who are always on the Kowloon side suggested to come here on a Friday night because this place has pool and beer pong.
They are regulars at Hair of the dog which this bar is part of but here they serve Thai food and not Western food.
For drinks had the pina colada and lychee mojito.
The pina colada was quite good because they put milk in it as well as coconut so it is a lot smoother.
We had some juicy beef cubes which had a lovely peppery taste.

The Pineapple fried rice was really good because the curry taste was strong and there were juicy chunks of pineapple and sweet raisins in it.
The raw prawns were crisp and springy paired with fiery Thai sauce and there were so many that it was enough for the four of us.

Chocolate and coconut bread

Every now and then, Tai Pan bakery will come up with some creative bakery and I will always fall victim for it!!This time they came up with this coconut and chocolate bread which got my attention because it was big and it was dusted with this weird cartoon with glasses and a moustache.
I didn't take a big first bite but I was impressed that there was some filling right to the edges and it was uniform in the middle.
The coconut filling inside was sweet and savoury, the exact stuff you find in Chinese cocktail buns (coconut buns) but white.

Not bad but I prefer the texture of Western bread.

A brilliant twist of Western and Chinese fusion

The pairing of Chinese and Western food often go wrong but the food here was spot on.
Before I came here, I assumed Bao Bei served dimsums and buns as one of the walls is plastered with dimsum baskets but it turns out not so.
Most of the dishes were mind blowing and flawless.

Here was the food we had:
++++++++++
Asian Style Brussels Sprouts:
I have always loved Brussels sprouts especially in roast dinners.
The ones here are stir fried with Chinese sausage which gives it sweet and salty flavour that balances the grassy aroma.

++++++++++
Mapo Tofu Fries:
This was like loaded fries but topped with spicy and juicy pork.

++++++
Rice Cake Carbonara:
I don't like carbonara but I found myself eating another piece after another because sauce was cheesy with pieces of parma ham and the texture of these rice cakes were soft which make them more palatable.

++++++
Char Siu and Egg Rice Burger:
I thought the best bit was the rice burger patty because it was mixed with seaweed.

++++++++++
Peking Duck Udon Pizza:

The udon pizza was a surprise because the udon was thin and crispy topped with generous smokey sauce and cheese.
++++++++++
Wild Mushrooms & Miso Cream Cannelloni:
I knew I was going to like this because I like anything made with pasta sheet and they were filled with wild mushrooms so it was vegetarian and light.

++++++++++
Baked Pineapple Bun with Curry Chicken:
I have to admit I am not a pineapple bun fan, but it turned out to be my cup of tea because it was a pie with a chicken inside it.
The chicken was tender and paired with the curry sauce.

++++++
Deep Fried Milk Pudding:
Finished with the fried milk pudding which was soft and supple milk pudding inside the crispy batter that was not too sweet.
