My first visit to Burgeroom in TST

This was my first visit to Burgeroom in TST because I normally go to the one in CWB.It is much more spacious but the music is loud hence it was super difficult for me to order as I had to repeat myself about 3 times per item!
Anyway, compared to CWB, the fries are perfectly fried and blonde.
It was delicious with the creamy avocado guacamole.
I requested the cheese sauce to be separate and it was really nice of them to separate it for me.

The fish on salad was refreshing because their salad dressing is light and appetizing tossed in ponzu vinegar which is citrusy.
The hazelnut chocolate was really comforting with a heavenly topped light frothy layer.

The peach tea was rather sweet but then there is water nearby to dilute it.

I love the burgers here so went here today before going to the food expo.
As usual, had the fish burger and mushroom burger.
Started with the icecream float which was really comforting because it was damn hot that day and it was fizzy and cooling.
The fried chicken was a bit hot so had to wait for it to cool down before I could eat it.
It was quite crunchy with a kick of spice!


The mushroom burger was consistently good.
It was garnished with lettuce, tomato and gherkin.
Normally I don't eat the gherkins but the gherkins here are fantastic as they are salty and pickled just right.

The fish filet, tartar sauce were both flawless.
I requested for extra tartar sauce because it was that good, the tartar sauce was bold and tangy.

Since my last visit, there are new dishes again.
This time, it is chicken wings, who doesn't love chicken wings!

I loved the crispy coating with a complex taste because there are so many spices according to the chef.
At first I could taste cinnamon then I could taste the cajun so the sauce was not really needed.
But in the end I tried the sauce anyway and it became really addictive because it was very hot and made the food appetizing.
The Mexican Truffle Salad (Huitlacoche) is also my favourite because it has lots of mushrooms which make it taste earthy and it is vegetarian.
For meat lovers, there was the Carnitas Taco with Blue Corn Tortilla. I was really lucky that day because the Tortilla was made from blue corn brought to HK by one of the Chefs friend.
Other than the colour, it is very filling with shredded pork and the sauce from the chicken wings complement it nicely.
Finished with the Pumpkin cheesecake mousse which will really surprise you because there is a good ratio of fresh pumpkin in it.
But then all their desserts are good like the sweetcorn icecream which has real sweetcorn in it.
For drinks, had the cooling Watermelon Mojito, Pin Colada and I had my favourite Horchata which is rice based drink with cinnamon.

I used to dine here frequently when I was in the area.

However, decided to dine here again instead of trying something new and it was a bad idea.
The gravy tasted really weird, it just tasted like coloured oil and the chicken wings were too burnt and crunchy.
The black pepper sauce was also disappointing, it just tasted like peppery sweet and sour sauce.

Summer is here so I decided to try DALLOYAU's new summer ice cream selection.
There are three new colourful flavours: Rose, Raspberry and tropical Peach & Mango.
Tried all three and personally I like the raspberry because it is sweet and fresh tasting like Yoplait's raspberry yoghurt.
The rose was really fragrant so it all depends if you like rose while the peach and mango I found quite sweet.
Other sweet treats such as Macarons, strawberry mousse cake and the raspberry opera.

I went to Kwaihing on a food crawl getting food from stalls which looked potentially good.
Unfortunately, four out of four I tried were not good.
My hopes were too high for this place because I discovered they had cake flavoured teas made with 蛋糕漿.
There were three flavours: strawberry cake tea, blackforest cake tea and original cake tea.
My interpretation of 蛋糕漿 is cake batter/mix, the mixture you make to bake a cake.
Cake batter is so delicious that kids always lick the bowl and mixing spoons but ideally you shouldn't really risk it because it has raw egg so you might get salmonella.
Anyway as a child, I always licked the cake batter.
I did have second thoughts it wouldn't be real cake batter as they would risk their customers getting sick so I assumed the cake batter was egg free or it contained blended baked cakes.
Ordered the black forest cake tea.
While I was waiting, I managed to get a closer look at them making tea.
I was disappointed to discover that the black forest cake batter was CHOCOLATE CREAM!!!
Tried the tea and I didn't like their tea base because it was nasty HK style milk tea, the tea I hate the most.
The chocolate thick cream at the bottom made it slightly better because it disguised the tea taste but there were no cherries because blackforest cakes are meant to contain cherries.
Anyway, the chocolate cream which is right at the bottom of the cup does not mix well so you end up with just tea or just cream in your mouth!
So just imagine a mouthful of thick chocolate cream!!!!!
If only it had been real cake batter/mix then it would have been a different story, the tea would be thick and dreamy.
