I have always wanted to try the pistachio cake and today the cafe was quite empty so I went in.The tea selection was rather poor as they didn't have options like Earl Grey or Breakfast tea so I opted for the Jasmine tea because I can't stand Hong Kong style milk tea.
The cake was ok but the texture was strange and you couldn't taste any pistachio except when you got bits of pistachio in your mouth.
The cream was horrible and synthetic and most probably made with margarine.
Finished with the Jasmine tea which was fragrant and strong.

Flamingo Bloom are launching drinks faster than I can keep up!
This time they have launched the #NAKEDZERO series which are #ZEROSUGAR #ZERO CAFFEINE and #ZEROPRESERVATIVES whilst being dairy and lactose free because it contains Almond milk.
These drinks really appealed to me because of the almond milk.
There are three flavours: P!NK, GOLD and V!OLET.
The NAKED ZERO series are blended with Mongolian grapes and made to order.
You can see how much grapes there are blended.
As always, their drinks impress.
I wasn't sure how it was going to taste but it tasted like yoghurt because of the grapes and because it was freshly made it is well blended and no vitamins are lost.

As well as not being quick enough to catch up with their new drinks at Flamingo Bloom, they are launching more food options.
Last time I had the Cheese and corn toast and now they have four new toast items!!
They had hot dog briefly which I wasn't quick enough to try but to be honest toasts are healthier and better.

There are four different toasts but avocado is my favourite so I had that.
The whole thing just tasted in harmony because you could taste the lovely salted butter on the toast whilst having bites of soft creamy avocado and juicy cherries tomatoes enhanced by the black pepper.
The avocado pieces were just right which was really good because at other places I have been served crisp, hard avocado which is not ripe to eat.

For drinks, decisions were tough because they have this new apple and cinnamon and the caramel cinnamon hot milk!


Settled for the smashed apple and cinnamon which was the best decision ever as it tasted like my favourite apple pie with hints of jasmine.


I think I am going to order it again and request for some Salted milk cap so I can imagine drinking apple pie with cream!

Went to a Wedding Banquet which is just like attending a concert at the Coliseum in HK.
The banquet doesn't normally begin until 9pm.
Luckily, they have food for hungry guests before the banquet starts.
The food was average, but the fake fried rice was delicious because it was eggless and it wasn't cooked in a wok.
You could taste it was boiled rice mixed with msg, charsiu and shrimps just how the way they do it in Chinese Takeaways in UK, but in UK the fried rice is cooked in a wok before serving to give it that wok fried taste.

A great place for private gatherings

This is a great restaurant to go in Central for decent Chinese fare.
It offers good privacy while the staff there are very friendly and helpful.
They speak good English which is appreciated.
I love that chair at the reception because there are twigs and leaves encased and it almost looks like if it were made of glass but it is not.
Anyway, the food was fantastic, the Deep fried Bombay Duck with Spicy Salt was silky coated in a light batter.
The Sweet corn soup with crab meat and conpoy was light and I loved the way the conpoy gives it a rich unami flavour.
The Barbecued Kagoshima Chami Pork was chunky and succulent.
The glistening sauce was sweet and sticky.
I thought this was going to be spicy but it wasn't but as a Brit, Cod is always my fave fish.
The Deep fried cod fillet with soybean crust in Sichuan style was lovely and flakey complimented by the aromatic crispy soybean crust crumbs on top.
Next was the Stewed wagyu beef with onion, scallion and spring onion, it was so soft that you could separate the meat easily with a fork.
Finished with my favourite carbs, the Fried rice with pork belly and shrimp roe.
You can see all that delicious shrimp roe on every grain of rice.

Started the week with a good lunch box that was good for sharing.I had the Prime Rib Dip sandwich which comes with fries, soup and an apple.
The steaks here are always juicy and thickly sliced.
A great sandwich to sink your teeth into and the portion is quite big which makes it ideal for sharing.
The soup was hearty and filling with coarsely cut vegetables, barley and chunks of beef which gives it a comforting strong beef flavour.
I like the apple in the box because it is simply healthy and good for people who are too busy to buy or bring fruit to work.

Despite this restaurant is well hidden, it was extremely busy and almost full.

The menu was a bit repetitive, it was mainly baked stuff with cheese or just the standard stuff.

The cheese toast with uni was quite nice but rather buttery.

The pizza was really similar to the toast, again with the same cheese but it had truffle so there was some truffle taste, Again it was burnt as HKers love burnt and black things which is the norm.

The fried stuff was a bit disappointing as it was over fried.

Anyway, we were lucky we didn't get the table in the middle because there was something on the corner which made them jump!

The waiter had to finish it off for them!
