Every year during CNY, McDs will have the black pepper prosperity burger and twister fries on the menu.
I always find that the black pepper is too peppery for my liking so just for fun I decided to have it without the sauce this year.
Your'e probably thinking, why I didn't just order the regular hamburger but I just wanted to see if the beef patty was any different.
After trying it, the taste and texture is certainly different.
The texture is a bit like elastic frankfurters and Chinese steamed dimsum beef balls, while the beefy taste is not so apparent.
To summarize, it does taste better without sauce but I do try and avoid Beef Burgers, Chicken patties, sausage patties from McDs these days because it is processed meat apart from the Fish Burger where you can see real fish flakes.

I like this place because not many people know that they serve noodles during lunch as it is a pub.Decided to check it out again to see if the noodles were consistently as good as my previous visit.
They now have tossed noodles as well so tried the soup and the tossed.
The tossed noodles are more flavourful but I still prefer the soup noodles because of the chili kick and the noodles that they use are in harmony.

Also had the radish and prawn cakes.
The radish is a must order because they are sweet with a high water content.

Normally I get my Indian fix on the HK side but Smrat seemed quite popular that I made an effort to try it for vegetarian food.
As well as Smart, there is Saravanaa Bhavan which is also quite good.
I was excited that there was curd rice (yoghurt rice) on the menu which I have tried in Central.
It is a lovely soothing and cooling rice mixed in yoghurt which goes well with fiery curries.
Anyway, when I ordered it, she advised I wouldn't like it, but dur!! I have already tried it.
Ordered the peas with rice which turned out like Chinese fried rice except it was laced with spices like cardamon and some others.
Also had the gobi masala which was in a tangy tomato sauce, adding lemon juice made it even better because I love lemon.
I planned to try more but the attitude was just weird and I didn't feel like wasting money on ordering more items when I can get better Indian fare on the HK side.
DO REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR BILL BECAUSE THE LASSI WAS CHARGED MORE THAN THE MENU AND WHEN I ASKED, SHE DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING UNTIL I SAID I SAW IT ON THE MENU AND THEN SHE SAID, OH THE OTHER MENU!!
Felt sorry for the other couple at the back because the TV was above them and they turned the volume right up but they turned it down after they complained.

Went here for a quick bite because I love muffins.There were a good variety.
I had the avocado, feta muffin which was good but the filling was quite stingy and the muffins were a bit dehydrated otherwise it would have been perfect.
Finished with the MaoFeng Green tea which was strong with a leafy taste.

To be honest, I was in Happy Valley because I wanted to check out this new rotisserie place which is quite similar to La Rotiszzxx. Anyway, since I was there, I stopped by Shanghai Lane which was well hidden but in a good way, there were less people dining there.
Had two set lunches and extra tofu.
The tofu was a bit too sweet for my liking but it was palatable.

For the other lunch set, I actually wanted those dumplings because the dumplings are always good but the guy served the pork chops which were still ok I suppose, it had a lovely crispy coating while the meat was superficially tender.
The star of the show was the tofu, I loved those salty pickled vegetables and salted egg pieces which were delicious with the rice.

Only went here because I haven't tried it.
After ordering, the food came really quickly.
The crab and tomato broth was really rich and salty hence the noodles were tasty.
There were lots of Vietnamese sausage slices and coriander.
As well as crab and tomato broth, there is the hot and sour which I hope to try on my next visit.

At first I got this place confused with Gungwohdaubaan because the stuff they serve is quite similar.
I got the marinated tofu puffs which I really regretted because there was an incredible rancid taste. The marinated tofu cubes would have fared better because they are not fried.
As for tofu pudding and soymilk, the choices are impressive because you can get almond soymilk and chocolate soymilk.
Anyway, I had the tofu pudding with grass jelly which was quite different to someones photos because the grass jelly cubes were much smaller!
The tofu pudding texture was really different to the usual as it was curd like with a subtle bean taste.
