Discovered this bakery after having ramen next door.
The donut caught my eye so I got the donut, the lady asked if I wanted a drink for an extra 8 dollars so I was like okay not that I really wanted it but then she said the Tea was not sweetened which made me go for it.
The Jasmine tea turned out to be the star of the show as I love teas and the Jasmine was really strong as well as natrual.
The donut icing was interesting because it wasn't sugar granules but more like icing powder yet one side was slightly clotted together like dots of icing.
When I left, I asked why they named the shop De Loin because I was just curious to see if they chose the French word randomly or with thought.
I was satisfied with the answer I got.
Will come again later to see if there is anything new as I am a fan of savoury items too such as quiches and pies etc.

There are now three branches of Ming Bistro.
This new branch is now my favourite because the food tasted better than the other two branches.
Started with the cold soy milk and lemon barley which were both served in light bulbs.
Very fancy and not too sweet.

I love soup and this one was really nourishing with double boiled fish maw and blaze mushroom.

Next was the pigeon, a Chinese favourite,
To me it just tastes like a tender mini roasted duck.

The Dimsum platter was stylishly presented.
Loved the prawn dumplings.
I think this would be a good item to order in the afternoon as 3 out of the 4 items are sweet.

The Yuzu Prawns were coated in this light crispy coating drizzled in sticky sweet yuzu sauce.

Next was the Golden Rice in Broth.
When it came, I thought it was a big fishball in the middle but the ball was actually the rice.
Before breaking the riceball, I tried the soup and it was tasty with lots of vegetables in it.

The shrimp and potato thin pancake tasted like those Korean pancakes.

The sauteed vermicelli prawn in claypot was really good because the glass vermicelli was firm and elastic with a nice prawn roe flavouring.
However the crab roe was a little strange as the colour and texture didn't work in harmony.

We were too full for the rice but it smelt good!

Finished with the Chinese Chess which were made of purple sweet potato and yellow sweet potato.
They were a bit too heavy and there was some sort of cream in the middle.

I love chicken wings and I think this is the first place where you can choose either the wings or drumettes.
There are seven flavours:

It was really hard deciding but my picks were the passionfruit or the salted lime with 7up.
In the end, tried the Miso, Typhoon Shelter style and Salted lime.
Typhoon Shelter style was my favourite, I loved the crispiness and the garlic crumbs.

The miso and salted lime were on the sweet and sticky side.
Hope to see more new flavours coming but at the moment, it is a bit of a bummer in the summer as it is too hot to eat hot things.

Shanghai teng is part of the SH PoPo group which serves delish prawns in salted egg yolk coating.
Unfortunately, they didn't have it here but had coated beans in salted egg yolk.
The beans were good and didn't let me down.
The sweet and sour chicken wasn't good because the chicken was not fresh, the meat was severely dehydrated that you can see the signs on the chicken meat.
The soup was good but it was quite Hong Kong style with green and orange carrots.

Spotted this earlier this year but they were closed to due a private function that day.Anyway, walked past and remembered this place so went in for a snack.
As well as the big rolls, they have some ready made rolls in the fridge which are cheaper.
The one I had was really good because it had a modern twist to it with cream cheese and salmon hence the name Philadelphia.
It was really good because it was creamy and the avocados on top were ripe.

The only complaint was the box has sauce everywhere so my fingers got sticky.

Westwood Carvery is memorable because the US Prime Rib is really good.
As they are celebrating their 8th anniversary in Hong Kong, they are giving away G.H.Mumm Champagne when 8 or more people dine there and spend over $400 per person.
We were all craving for meat so had the US Prime Rib!

It looks raw but it is not. The taste was very flavourful and goes well with their horse radish which is really comforting.
But saying that, almost everything is comforting especially their soup and fantastic bread.

For Father's day, they will be serving a 32oz US Prime Rib Father’s Cut $1136.
To complete the carvery experience, their sides were wonderful especially the cream spinach and corn.

Also tried their mussels which I didn't try previously.
The mussels were springy and fresh in a rich and creamy sauce.

The Slow-Roasted Baby Back Pork Ribs almost stole the show as well because I loved the punchy cajin and strong smokey flavouring.

For pastas, we had the black truffle and Spaghetti Aglio e Olio with Anchovies & Shrimp.
The Spaghetti Aglio e Olio with Anchovies & Shrimp was my favourite because of the anchovies.

When one wants to eat Taiwanese food and the other wants to eat Shanghai food then come here!
At first I thought it was a Taiwanese restaurant but they serve Shanghai style dumplings as well.
Started with the Beef noodles and the beef was soft and full of flavour.

My friend had the Taiwanese mince with rice where you can choose some unusual combinations such as fried luncheon meat.

The Taiwanese Oyster omelette turned out to be the star of the show.
When it came, it looked overdone but I was surprised it was crisp and airy without being oily despite its dark brown colour.

The rest of the snacks we had:

For dessert the Cincao (Taiwanese grass jelly) somehow tasted like the Chinese grass jelly from the can.

Last but not least, the tea was pleasing.
