I have always wanted to try PAK DON because I heard it was famous with various of awards etc.

Finally found a branch where you can dine in.

In the afternoon, they are doing a mini Hainan chicken rice for $31.

I am so glad I went during the afternoon as it didn't taste as good as expected, hence wasting $31 on a mini portion is better than wasting $4x on a full portion.

As well as your daily intake of water, fruit and veg etc, calcium is important too!
At Pow Cha, I like their signature milk series and if you are vegan, they have soy milk as well!!
I had the Snow Panther {Milk, black sugar and Taiwanese pearls} which was quite nice because it wasn't too sweet and it is mainly milk so you could taste the milk as well as the black sugar.
My friend got the Black Panther {Black sugar and Black sesame soy milk} which was on promotion so it was only $15 for such a big drink!!

As it was soy milk, it wasn't as heavy as milk but still nice.

I was shocked at how hard it was to choose a drink because the choice for smoothies was impressive.
There was cucumber and pineapple, avocado, Pistachio and almond smoothie and this bizarre tom yum soda.
In the end, I had the pistachio and almond smoothie which was quite nice as it was not too sweet, but the colour was weirdly pastel blue to the naked eye and I couldn't really taste any pistachio or almond.
Regretted getting the coconut smoothie because it was too milky.

I love Creole and Louisana cuisine but most of the restaurants that serve it have closed such as Blue Smoke, Restoration etc.
When I heard of Mr. Crab by The Captain's House, I had to give it the benefit of the doubt being in Wanchai and the fact that it has been here for quite a while so the food should be good.
They also have another branch at TST called The Captain's House which was not so impressive but Mr.Crab impressed me on this visit!!
When you arrive, you are greeted by tanks of lobsters and a seafood bar.
Started with the popcorn cauliflower which had a nice crunch with lots of spices.
The seafood gumbo was comforting as it tasted quite close to the one I had ages ago packed with okra etc.
The Seafood bag was ok but it was a bit too spicy so next time I will probably choose the lemon and dill cream.
I loved the Dirty fried rice which has chicken liver and sausage bits.
Finished with smores and crackers.
The marshmallow was super gooey and fun to eat.

Stopped by for some drinks and discovered that they served soup as well so I got the Spinach Miso Soup.
The soup was really good and had a strong miso flavour with a salty punch.
At the bottom, it was packed with lots of spinach.

Being in Central, it was really good that they had Filipino staff to man the counter because they speak better English than HKers which is really crucial.

They were really good at explaining the different dishes and very friendly.

Being raised in UK. my first Chinese food memories were in China Town and Food from Chinese Takeways so it was a great experience at East Ocean Restaurant as they are now serving some dishes from the past.
There were a few that I have heard of such as Golden Money Chicken and the Pomelo Grapefruit skin which became reality on this visit.

The Golden Money Chicken does not contain any chicken at all but it is called that because it has chicken liver, a la layer of fat and roast meat.

The pomelo skin was mushy with a little bitterness.

My favourite was the white spring rolls stuffed with minced prawn.

For healthy options, the vegetable dish was my pick with lots of crunchy lily bulbs and lotus roots.

For dimsum, I liked the fried prawn dumplings which were succulent and springy.

My first visit to Cha Long was in Central and it was disappointing because the oolong tea was tasteless.

On this visit, I tried the Grapefruit tea which was Jasmine based and it was much better, you could taste both the grapefruit and Jasmine.

I drank it slowly and the drink did not go bitter even with the grapefruit slices in the cup.

Although I liked what I drank, I regretted not trying the lychee Jasmine which is exclusive to this branch.
Will come back again to try the puddings and tea rolls.
