This is my second time dining at Luxury which has been round for years.
I like the way it is well hidden and disguised as it does not look like a restaurant but a beauty parlour.
Hence I suspect this restaurant could be opened by a celebrity.
Anyway, the was a choice of set dinners with different courses to choose from.
There was truffle or lobster soup.
For starters, I loved the ham and foie gras pate.
Unique on the menu was the pork cheek!!!
However ordered both the beef and pork cheek and it was hard to differentiate from the plate as they were both served with the same vegetables.
Strangely the beef tasted better and it was softer.
Finished with the apple crumble which was baked to perfection.

[Review 6880] Marks off for Saltiness @ 紅城冰室 Red City Restaurant

https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/marks-off-for-saltiness-e3179823
Went here randomly, didn't have any expectations as it was Hong Kong style food.
It was good that you could order the items a la carte as I do not like any of the drinks served in HK Cafes.
Got the black bean bittermelon with crispy fish to be on the safe side.
Black bean sauce can not differ a lot but here it did as they put ginger in it.
The ginger actually blended in quite well and there was also some chili in it which gave it a nice spicy kick.
The black beans were whole ones too and the bittermelon was chunky yet cook thorough so they were soft.
I have always wondered why vegetables are cut in big pieces and vegetables served like plants plucked from soil in Hong Kong.
[Perhaps HKers have big gobs??}
Overall, I was quite satisfied with the meal but it was just too salty and more rice was needed.

[Review 6879] Good Thyming to try this @ 百里居 Thyme

If you come here on the weekdays, this place should be packed with people working in the area.
So went during the weekend when it was nice and quiet.
I was really impressed with the Western choices as they had ravioli and the Chefs there look like they know their stuff.
Previously tried Thyme which was a smaller joint selling juices.
Now they are a full scale restaurant that does outside catering as well.
As a fan of ravioli, I ordered the truffle ravioli and my friend had the Japanese Beef.
The portions were quite big.
I loved my ravioli which was smothered in creamy sauce with lots of finely chopped onions.
To my surprise there were two drinks each which was handy as I was quite thirsty that day and they make their own drinks like Longan and gojiberry water and roselle tea which I did not choose as I thought they were going to be sweet.
According to my friend, they were not that sweet.
My friend settled the bill and if I did hear correctly, there was no 10% which was awesome!
A good place to get your Western Fix.
I think we sat there for quite a while but they didn't chuck us out.

Chullschick fits right in with the lovely character and art that are also great for selfies.
As well as the lovely outlook, I was there for a reason which was to try the first Peruvian Rotisserie.
You get to choose a side with the chicken and it was a hard choice as there was fries, potato salad, rice, roast sweet potatoes.
[For lunch, you get to choose two sides and a soup is included]

In the end, I settled for the quarter chicken with garlic rice.
It comes with Chullschicken special sauces.

First impressions, I liked the crispy skin while the chicken was tender.
The sauces were great as it was different and full of spices.
I am glad I chose the rice because I like to try rices that are cooked in different ways and here there was a nice garlic fragrance to it.
After reading some online articles on CC, it says that the chicken is marinated in beer for two days.
The chicken croquette had a nice crunchy coating filled with chunky pieces of chicken and I think I tasted some potato in it.

Finished with the avocado cookie sandwich but I felt that the chocolate was too over powering as I couldn't really taste the avocado unless I ate them separately.
It would be good if a plain cookie were used in terms of taste but then the appearance would not look so good in terms of colour.

I loved this cute joint.
There were so many drinks on the list that I ended up getting two!!
To be honest, the drinks fare better.
The crispy cucumber turned out blue but it was good that they separated the coffee and cucumber.
The tropical wonderland had a nice layer of colour with a good fizz.
Matcha:
Food could have been better and the most expensive thing on the plate was probably the tomatoes.
The baguette was really chewy and tough so I suspect it had been microwaved or it was a stale baguette that was toasted.

Saw pictures of Hainan Silkie chicken rice which is basically black chicken.
Went there for it but unfortunately they have changed the menu and don't serve this anymore.
Before I went, I called to make sure it was on the menu and they said it was available after 11am.
Luckily, I had some backups on the list to try.

[Review 6875]Other hidden gems at Cafe Crepe @ Café Crêpe

I have always wanted to try this crepe place but never made it.
It is evidently popular with expats which is reassuring.
On the menu, there are sweet and savoury crepes, cold cuts, appetizers and mains.
I KNOW THIS PLACE IS OBVIOUSLY FAMOUS FOR CREPES BECAUSE OF THE NAME but as a cheese lover the baguette with three cheeses and the baked brie with baguette were disturbingly good.
Well the baguette with three cheeses was worth choosing as it had brie, cheddar and Swiss Cheese, all the cheeses that I like.
Then the baked brie is something that you don't often see done right and also the baguettes because which are local ones.
Anyway, after a long battle deciding, I ordered the baked baguette.
When it came, I was not disappointed as the portion of baked cheese was quite generous and it looks like that more baguette was needed.
I regretted not ordering fries as that would have been fantastic with the melted brie.
It was reassuring when I saw it served to others because it was the French style thin fries that were fried perfectly.
Started eating it and cheese was absolutely divine, soft and gooey.
I wish there was more baguette though.
As I adore cheese that much I didn't really eat it with the blueberries but they would have been nice together as I prefer to separate sweet and savoury.
Saving the blueberries last, I was surprised how delicious it was, you could see that it was just literally uniformly sized plump blueberries in sauce.
The taste of the blueberries were not cloyingly sweet and it was very fragrant.
[on the menu, it says blackberries but I am pretty sure they were blueberries unless they were blackcurrants which should taste tart]
Will definitely be back but not for crepes but for the other baguette with three cheeses and then when my cheese cravings are satisfied I will order the crepes!!!!!
