Went here because it was new.
As well as this branch, there are other branches in HK.
They specialize in fishballs and beef offal so got the beef tendon with rice.
The good thing is that they offer the seaweed soup if you don't want drinks.
The portion was big and the beef tendons were tasty but the texture let it down as it wasn't soft enough.
The seaweed soup was quite salty but at least it was clean and sand free.

Delish bagels and VEGAN cakes

Stopped by for food after visiting the new high Speed rail station nearby.
Sat at the back as it was nice and quiet.
The menu:
For food had the breakfast and bagel.
I didn't have any expectations for the breakfast but the scrambled egg was quite good.
The star of the show for me was the bagel and there were so many fillings to choose from.
I had the New Yorker which had all my favourites like pastrami, mustard and cream cheese.
The bagel was very satisfying especially the pastrami which was complemented nicely by the mustard.
For drinks finished with the hot mint mocha and ice shaken passionfruit tea.
The ice shaken tea was good as it was not too sweet with a fragrant yet natrual taste.
Last but not least was the vegan cake by Vege Lab!!
This was the best vegan cake I have had in terms of taste and texture and I loved the strawberry filling in the middle.

Nostalgic Paradise dishes at Paradise Classic

Paradise Dynasty is a successful restaurant chain from Singapore serving the finest of northern and southern China cuisine and now they have a new restaurant under their wing called Paradise Classic which serves nostalgic dishes.
At Carnavon Plaza, they are right next to each other!!
I was more than excited to try because of the nostalgic dishes that are slowly fashioned out in the modern era.
Started with the floral elderflower and melon tea which was sweet and refreshing.
The first nostalgic dish was the crouching tiger available in a spicy and non spicy version.
You get to savour the sweetness of seafood in this inimitable pot of crabs, prawns, clams, squid and fish.
The seafood broths brings out the taste of freshest seafood while the thick vermicelli soaks up the flavours of the broth.
Next was the stewed silver pin noodles which came in a huge pot in thick delicious soup that is mixed with egg.
It was hearty and filling, great for the coming winter.
For light bites, had the mashed tofu with seafood which is a must try as they make the tofu in house.
Finished with my favourite spinach cooked with salted egg and preserved egg for a balanced meal with vegetables.

A sweetcorn but not a sweetcorn

Since my last visit, the owner has changed.
The food is slightly different.
I was hoping to try the wraps but they are only served during the day.
Anyway, as I went there late, just tried the sweetcorn and drinks.

Seemingly like a sweetcorn in presentation, it is not!!!
It was actually a cheesecake.
I seriously thought it was real sweetcorn on the top but when I put the spoon into it, it just gave in as it was soft mousse.
In the middle was corn flavoured cheesecake.
It all tasted good but a bit too sweet for my liking.

For drinks, had Japanese tea and watermelon mojito.
The tea definitely went well with the cheesecake.

Obviously went here for bagels!!!
Not many places serve whitefish let alone bagels so had the whitefish!!
I wish they had salted beef like London....
All was good until I found a bone, but at least it was at the beginning since I didn't run into anymore bones.
The whitefish was minced and tastes a bit like smoked mackerel.
My friend had the sweet bagel and bagel chips.

[Review 6951] Someone said "crazy" Chinese food"?? @ 港 (已結業)KONG by Bread & Beast

港 (已結業)KONG by Bread & Beast
灣仔汕頭街1號地舖
G/F, 1 Swatow Street, Wan Chai
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/someone-said-crazy-chinese-food-e3208448
I was checking out the French restaurant on Swatow Street when I saw Kong by Bread and Beast were doing a photo shoot.
Took a look out of curiosity and they were doing a photo shoot for Thanksgiving and Christmas with turkey and delicious pies!!!
While I was looking, this guy came out and said that I should come in and try the "crazy Chinese food" which was a big contrast to Turkey!!!!
{Actually I was more interested in Turkey to be honest!]
The menu was quite interesting so decided to try it anyway.
There were lots of Western dishes with Chinese ingredients and Vice versa such as mac and cheese with Chinese preserved sausages and ricerolls covered in cheese.
The one that I really had to try was the Caesar salad made with fried dace in black bean sauce since I missed the chance to try the fried dace in black bean sauce pizza at some hotel in San po kong.
I couldn't believe how well they went together but I am biased as I just love anything with fried dace that I once requested for fried dace black bean congee and it was damn good.
This dish was inspired by salad with anchovies and capers which was replaced by the fried dace and it worked.
Next were the Brussel sprouts which I hesitated to order as they just looked dark in photos and boy I was wrong.
The photo does not do it any justice.
When you eat them, the surface of the Brussel sprout are crispy but soft inside bursting with tangy lime and fish sauce and you just can't stop eating them.
There were so many dips to choose from like black garlic aioli, strawberry ricotta, fa diu liver pate and bone marrow whip with a choice of scallion bing or ciabatta.
Went for the strawberry ricotta and crispy ciabatta which was quite nice as it was liking having savoury scones with cream and strawberries.
Finished with the cherry kola beef brisket.
Inside the rice roll, there was so much lean beef brisket which is the same stuff they use for the sandwiches during the day.
By day this place is [Bread and Beast] and by night they are [KONG] by Bread and Beast
Bread and Beast have been really successful as I first tried them at Island East Markets a few years ago before they started this restaurant in Wanchai.

Went here a few months ago for all you can eat brunch.
Basically the sushi from the menu was unlimited.
The tuna and scallop were the best.
You are also given miso soup, tempura and dessert.
The tempura was freshly fried and not too oily so overall everything was good.
