Omakase at Sushi Yorokobu

Went here ages ago with a friend.Overall everything was tasty and fresh.
My favourite course was the fish milt which was creamy.
The starter was also pleasing visually and in terms of taste.
My other favourite course was the abalone and liver sauce with rice.
I practically finished every drop of the liver sauce and the chef was really nice and gave me more liver puree for the rice.
The soup was a little different, I appreciated the citrus in it which made it refreshing.
The uni and salmon roe was another favourite of mine.
Overall, a great place for omakase.

Properly cheesy

Previously had a bad experience in TST for Japanese rice with cheese so was reluctant to come here.Still went anyway and it turned out to be amazing!!!
Started with the chicken gristle skewers which looked like fish fingers.
They had a good chicken to gristle ratio and everything was minced properly.
It tasted great when it was dipped into the egg.
For mains, had the signature eel rice and the baked foie gras with cheese rice.
The star of the show was definitely the foie gras because they used decent cheese!!
The stone pots they used were clean so there was no unpleasant odour.
Finished with the lobster with cheese which was damn delicious.
The lobster meat was succulent unlike other places that serve shrivelled meat hiding under thick sauce as if it was fully loaded.

Hotpot with omnipork

Went here because I got this place confused with this other hotpot place that serves duck blood jelly. They serve them here but not the ones I wanted.
The menu turned out to be quite good so stayed as they had omnipork meatballs.

Started with the hami melon slush which was quite syrupy.
Also had the pan fried Pork buns which I thought were ready to eat but you have to put them in the hotpot.

For the main hotpot, chose the spicy and pork with pork slices and omni pork.

The omnipork balls were fun putting them in the hotpot as I have not encountered the uncooked form before.
When I have them from other restaurants, they are all cooked.
They actually behave like real pork because when they are cooked the colour is not so bright and translucent.
Overall, I enjoyed dining here as the menu options were good.

Cheesy Blueberry Pie @ McDonalds Hong Kong
2018-12-12  96 瀏覽
Earlier this year, McDonalds launched the Mixed Berries Custard Pie for one day only on pi day 3.14 ie March the 14th.Now they have launched the Cheesy Blueberry pie!!!
The name doesn't sound quite right being cheesy because you wouldn't describe a cheesecake being cheesy.
Anyway decided to try it in the hopes of it tasting like custard because the version at Pakistan is actually blueberry custard!
The packaging was quite nice.
After taking a few bites,  it tasted how I had expected it to be, the blueberry side was sweet just like eating blueberry jam and the cheesy side tasted like custard.
So for people who do not like cheese, you can't taste any cheese and luckily it doesn't because I don't think it would taste nice.
I don't think McD would be that daft to make something taste weird.
Clearly the packaging and name doesn't quite match because the white on the illustration looks more like cream than cheese!

Went past this a few months ago but didn't stop by as I had already had something to eat.
Regretted not coming back sooner as they used to have the buffet during the afternoon which has been discontinued.
I was finally in the area looking for dinner and came here.
The buffet was really good and they had interesting items like bee pollen.
For me, I liked the pastas and quesadillas but sadly they didn't have the sweet apple rolls that night.
It was funny when I left as the lady said I should eat more or it would be a waste.
To be honest, I only take what I can eat or it would be more of a waste taking a plateful and throwing it away afterwards.

Visited this place three times separately but decided to bundle all the pictures in one go!I was surprised to see them localize their options for breakfast with fish shaomai and octopus balls.
Since octopus balls was the only option that I haven't tried and you don't often see these octopus balls served elsewhere so got them.
In terms of taste, healthiness and nutrition, the musubis win anyday.
But just tried these balls for fun.
Didn't really like them because they are just made of flour, msg and all that crap.

Also tried the salmon potato salad (also not made by HM), didn't really like it as it was too sweet.
The spam and mayo musubi was as good as always.
Last but not least the dadachamame beans, it was good but I didn't get much beans in this one.

[Review 7037] Healthy Poke @ Peek-A-Poke

Went here because I like the flexibility of building your own poke and they have lots of healthy raw ingredients.
I admire the fact that they do not claim to be authentic but serve Hawaiian inspired POKE.
This joint is located on Haven Street so it is nice and quiet on weekdays.
Decorated with paddles and fish nets which make it a lovely corner in CWB.

Ordered a build your own poke, crab salad and some drinks.
The Pineapple Coco Cooler was served in a tiki tiki glass, it was thick and creamy with a surprising fizz in it.
Couldn't quite taste the pineapple but it was minty.
The Almond smoothie was very filling because it is a meal substitute loaded with almond milk and oat milk and my favourite cinnamon.
Also got the jax coco because the one they had here was fizzy.
My friend had the crab salad as she was on diet.
Here was my poke which was so damn good!!!!!!
It had so much kelp in it and I love kelp!!!!
I also chose tofu and edamame to go with it as it is healthy.
Will definitely be back for more poke bowls with kelp and other choices!!
