Since the Quattro Burger was launched, I have it whenever they serve it because it contains 4 slices of cheese.
2 white and 2 American Cheddar according to the menu.

The Quattro burger is served one day only or whenever they decide to!
It always comes with a soft drink which I never drink because I just don't drink soft drinks so paying HKD16 for the burger is ok.
Anyway, when it came, I noticed there was only two slices of cheese so looked underneath the patty and there wasn't anymore cheese so exchanged it.

Here was the second burger which was cold when I unwrapped it.
It was so cold that you can see the slices of cheese distinctly that evidently the beef patties were not even hot when it was assembled.

The taste was bad because the bun wasn't soft and the cheese just doesn't taste as good when it hasn't melted.

[Review 7113] Real Juices but why the sweetener @ 鍾美鮮果汁咖啡 Johnny Fruit Juice & Coffee

There are two branches of Johnny's one in Kowloon Bay and one in Kwun Tong.
I was quite impressed that they had so many beverages on the menu which take up a third of the menu choices.
I liked the vegetable juice choices as they had celery, cucumber, tomato etc.

Ordered a hot chocolate and cucumber juice to start with.
The hot chocolate was a bit weak but then discovered the rest of the chocolate mix was at the bottom.
The cucumber juice was good as it was freshly blended cucumber which impressed me to order the tomato juice.
To my horror, the tomato juice was sweetened which really pissed me off.

I ordered tomato juice because I love the way natrual tomato taste ie umami with a bit of savoury and tartness.
If you buy canned/carton tomato juice from the supermarket, it won't have sugar in it.
The sweetener was just weird and ruined the purpose of drinking vegetable juice to be healthy.
Although my day was ruined, I do want to come back and try the strawberry milkshake to see if they use real strawberries and order another TJ without sugar.

A great Hangout corner

I love hanging out on the Hong Kong side because there are so many decent eateries and places to see.

The Hangout Corner is near PoHing Fong which is in the middle of some steps.
Although the location is a bit difficult I found a shortcut to walk here by crossing to the mall from Sheungwan Civic Centre.
Taking the escalators to the top then cutting through the small park, crossing the road and the restaurant is on the left somewhere.
Inside, I loved the decor and the Chinese wooden plaque which shows their sous vide kung fu skills!

The menu is pretty creative and I love the side dishes so I got the fried prawns topped with salted egg yolk with pickled vegetables and taro mash.
The taro mash was so damn good, I loved the taste and textured.
The best thing is that they didn't put any colouring or ruined it with sugar.
As they ran out of tempura batter that night, they used cutlet coating instead.

I also had the pickled veg (saukeraut) to complement the prawns as I figured it would get a bit heavy having all the prawns to myself.
Definitely coming back with more friends as I haven't had the sous vide meat yet but judging by the sandwiches at their closed branch in TST, it is going to be damn delicious.
Finished with the chocolate coconut water which was something  creative.
For dessert, had the caramelized pineapple and icecream which was juicy and a great finish for the evening.

Saltless soups

I have always wanted to try this place because they specialize in soups.
Soups start from $48 and onwards.
Had the whelk and monkey mushroom soup there.
When it came, they said there was salt on the side because they do not put salt in it.
Indeed there was no salt and the taste was very light.
Although it wasn't salty I didn't put any salt in to be healthy and it still tasted ok.
Will come back to try their lunches and there is a branch at North Point.

Chicken broth ramen

Most ramen broths revolve around pork bone which can be quite heavy.I was attracted to Aoi because it stood out on Ichang street being bright yellow.
They specialize in chicken broth ramen and on the menu there is a chicken and yuzu ramen which I really wanted to try.
There were lots of soft drinks from Japan
On the table, there was ramen black pepper, yuzu and chili oil.
The wasabi ginger ale wasn't as spicy as expected and the ginger was more prominent than the wasabi with a sweet fizz.
The other soda was cute and that's it.
The star of the show was the chicken and yuzu ramen, when it came, there was a spoonful of yuzu puree which you have to mix into the broth.
Tried the soup before mixing and it was strong chicken soup without the oiliness.
After mixing the yuzu it made the broth more refreshing but didn't give it any tartness.

In the bowl, you get a slice of pork and compressed chicken meat which had been shaped into chicken rolls but all good.

Also had the dumplings which gave a nice crunch as it had soft bone cartilage but the sauce could have been better as it was just soy sauce when  I was expecting gyoza sauce or something tart.

The ramen of the week was black garlic  which was super strong compared to the chicken.

Overall, I would recommend the original one or the chicken yuzu but since the yuzu puree isn't tart, you can get the yuzu effect by adding the yuzu condiment on the table.

MS used to famous for udon and tempura where they used to have this delicious tempura egg with a liquid yolk in the middle but they don't serve that anymore. It has been ages since I ate there.
Went past and saw Quesadilla which was something totally different from Udon and tempura.

To my disbelief, it was only HKD20 and you get a drink too!!!!!!
For me, I don't drink soft drinks so paying HKD20 for a quesadilla was still ok.
The funny thing was that I was the first to order it as they couldn't find it on the POS and the chefs said it was their first time serving it.

To my surprise, it was really delicious!
The beef slices were fresh and it had some teriyaki sauce  even though it says spinach sauce on the menu which actually went well with the cheese!
Will have this again if I am in the area.

[Review 7108] Soberly delicious in Kowloon @ Little Tipsy Restaurant & Bar

Previously tried Tipsy in Tai Hang and the food was good so I have faith in Little Tipsy.

I am glad there are more restaurants in Kwun Tong raising the standards and not offering fake Western style meals.
Although there is a crowd who don't really care what they eat but there are people who are wanting to eat good food especially those poor souls whose offices had to relocate to the cheaper side of town due to rents.

Luckily Little Tipsy is located near one of the exits and not one of those factory buildings.
I was quite amused by the English name of the building as it was the phonetic name of the Chinese name Prince (Wongji) so why didn't they just call it Prince Building.

The decor at Little Tipsy is nice and classy.
The lunch menu had a lot to offer ranging from HKD8X - 1XX.
Ordered the pasta set lunch which came with soup and a drink.
The onion soup was really good and loaded with sweet onions, it was clear yet strong served with decent bread.
This is why I like dining at Little Tipsy as they won't serve you some lame cornstarch soup or canned vegetable soup.

Again no  complaints with my pasta and I appreciate the julienne yellow and green courgettes which give it a nice crunch while the tomato concasse sauce was tangy.
There were three fresh springy prawns which were pan fried nicely with a light charred taste.

Finished with the Peach cold brew Jasmine tea for an extra $10.

Will be back with friends.
