Previously tried Kamameshi in Causeway Bay which was quite good so decided to try Guts Soul Kamameshi in Kowloon Bay.
The menu and style is slightly different.
On the way to my table, I spotted the eel looking good so I was tempted to order it.
There is so much to choose from as well as unagi (eel) options such as thick cut, gold or silver.
I ended up getting the silver eel because it has less sauce so that the taste of the eel is more prominent which is why the colour isn't so dark.
 To my surprise, I really liked it because you could taste the eel and is wasn't bony.
The rice beneath was hot and fluffy, full of aroma from the pot.
Also had the Okinawan bitter melon dumplings because I haven't had them for a while.
They are basically the usual dumplings loaded with bittermelon slices and pork have a bitter taste as well as a crunch.

The dessert were just average so I would just recommend ordering the Kamameshi!

Marks and Sparks has the best sweet treats so went here for my cream cravings.

Got the apple turnover and eclairs which both contain delicious freshly whipped cream.
The apple turnovers has to be eaten asap before the pasty gets soggy.
I love that lovely balance of tart crisp apple cubes and cream encased in the light puff pastry dusted with coarse sugar grains.
The eclair is another evilicious treat which is just choux pastry filled with unsweetened cream.

Saint Honore occasionally has some nice items to try and this time I spotted the Earl Grey Cake so got it.
It reminded me of the chiffon cake because of the texture.

Each one was individually packaged.

Overall, it was quite nice as it was fluffy and soft.
The Earl Grey taste was quite fragrant so it doesn't have that strong eggy taste like the local cakes.
I liked the way they labelled it as COTTON cake to be different.

Went here a while ago for fish and chips and quite a lot has changed.
There are more options on the menu.
The fish and chips looked more or less the same as how I had them Tai Koo but they didn't have vinegar available like before.


The chips were basically the oven chips which are still crispy so it was good.
Finished with hot chocolate which had a rich cocoa taste served with a Christmas Tree shaped shortbread.

There are quite a few branches of Prince of Shaomai but they are plotted all over inconvenient locations such as Kai Tin, chuk Yuen etc.Went to the joint at Lam Tin because it was accessible by MTR.
Lam Tin Market has been revamped with these funny red English phone booths.
Unfortunately, they didn't have the squid ink shao mai which was obviously what I went there for.
As I was already bloody there, just got the ordinary Fish Shaomai which are freshly made.\
The shaomai skin tasted quite nice with a springy texture.
They tasted better when they  have cooled down as the texture is more chewy so it depends what texture you prefer and you can taste the fishiness when they are cooler.
Definitely want to come back for the squid ink shaomai but as the franchise is small, they don't even have a dumb number or fb for ppl to find out.

Originally intended to go to Shanghai Lao Lao at Lokfu but it was closed so went here as it was the nearest branch.They had some attractive festive dishes so decided to try them all.

They were very affordable so we shared this between the four of  us.

The pumpkin soup was loaded with chicken, prawns, quail egg, egg dumplings, sea cucumber etc.

My favourite was the poached fish with pickled vegetables which went deliciously with rice.

Just for the instaworthy factor, we had the shanghai dumplings which were pink in colour.
There was a scallop inside each dumpling.

I was already full but there was glutinous rice dessert laced with osmantus flowers and sweet sauce.
Overall I was quite stuffed and it didn't cost us a bomb!

CNY is coming and there are so many Festive treats in the market.Traditional turnip pudding is getting boring so it is time for more modern ingredients and vegetarian puddings.
This year Kee Wah has a vegetarian pudding with cordeceps and cashew nuts which makes it nutritious and healthy.
I loved the soft cashews in it and the crunchy cordeceps.

As well as turnip cake, they have other sweet treats in cute cartoon theme tins.
