I love 8pots but the branch in TST is a bit far so when I found out that there was another branch in CWB, decided to give it a visit,
The location is next to Ichiran so you can expect to get some peace and quiet as not many people dine on that street and many restaurants have opened and closed at this particular spot.
It is cheaper coming here in the day because it only costs $88 and in the evening it costs $108.
For lunch, they have selected hot pots for $66 during the week days.
You choose a pot and a bowl or rice or glass vermicelli and a drink is included.
Unfortunately, each pot is fixed and different broths have different ingredients so in order to try the stinky tofu and pork blood cake, I had to choose the House Special pot.
Ingredients in the pot Baby Cabbage + Sliced Pork + Fermented Tofu + Meat Ball + Blood Cake + Quail Egg + Tomato + Preserved Vegetable + Nira + Enoki Mushroom + Tofu Skin.
The Medicinal lamb was also good:
Will definitely come back again.
The recommended ones that I like are the House Special and the Sesame Chicken!

Scotch Egg

Mushroom Bakery is one of the bakeries in SK that does the scotch egg.
They used to be on YI Chun Street but have moved to the main road or round the corner.
Went there and got the scotch egg, rye bun and the donut.
Didn't like the donut as the oil was a bit rancid and the sugar they used wasn't that pleasant.
The rye bread was ok but the packaging was misleading as on the shelf it just says HKD6 and some are packed in 2s and 3s and it turns out that they cost HKD6 each so when you pay for it they will cut the bag, put the other one in another bag and reseal it.
The scotch egg must have been there for days if the egg white has gone yellow.
The egg white wasn't tender or silky either.
Overall not as good as before.

[Review 7311] Sunday roast @ The Phoenix Bar & Kitchen

The Phoenix located at the mid levels is evidently successful as they have been here since 2000.It is always busy when I go past it but this Sunday I seized the opportunity for dinner as it wasn't that busy.
There were so many good options to choose from like dishes launched for St Patrick's Day and they even had bubble and squeak.
Sunday Roast is almost disappearing from the Hong Kong scene so I ordered that.
Delaney's in Wanchai used to serve it but they have closed down a few years ago.
It was roast pork loin that day with cider gravy.
The pork was a bit dry but the other stuff made up for it especially the cauliflower cheese which was so comforting.
It tasted like the stuff we got at school in this creamy cheesy sauce that complimented the dry pork loin nicely.
The pork crackling was way too hard.
For drinks, had tea and the zero alcohol lager by Carlsberg.
Not that I'm complaining but the Sunday Roast was only HKD158 on the bill so maybe it was a late night discount??

Went here because I saw photos of the stylish swing and the twisted background.
I love this type of stuff but the locals here strangely don't appreciate it.
At Toyrus they had these Monster High dolls which got complaints by Hong Kongers!!
Anyway, back to the food, they had light bites and dinner sets.
To start had the peppered salmon croquettes with cumin mayonnaise.
These bites were delicious with fluffy potato mash in the middle.
It would be great if they didn't put black pepper in the croquettes as the cumin sauce was the star of the show.
To go with the set dinner, ordered the black and white sesame crusted seared tuna.
The dinners are quite big because you get salad and soup.
For the mains I chose chicken and the portion was huge!!!!
It was overloaded with vegetables on the side and covered with crisp vegetable chips!!
The best thing is that it comes with ham which goes with the chicken very well giving it extra flavour.
Overall, a good place for dinner where you can relax and even play beer pong!

Despite being in Hanghau quite often, I haven't had time to try this but since this restaurant has been there for a year now and the queues have gone I finally decided to go.
It is located on the corner near Marks and Spencer and Muji.
The decor is modern yet with a twist of old school elements to it.
Obviously they specialize in casseroles aka Chinese claypot dishes.
There were two rice pot dishes that got my attention because of the creativity and simply it would taste quite different served in a pot.
The hainan chicken which is normally served in a plate was presented in a casserole.
The chicken and pickles were laid on top.
In terms of taste, it was super hot and the rice had more flavours because of the constant heat from the casserole forces aroma in it while you are eating. I loved the pickles as well as they were tart and not sweet like other restaurants.
The other rice pot had a Japanese twist to it, the rice for this one was more al dente so I liked it and there was a lovely matcha fragrance infused in every grain of rice but not too overpowering.
As well as the eel, there were dried Sakura shrimps which came it a crunch and briny flavour.
The eel was delicate and sweet brushed with Teriyaki sauce.
Last but not least was the traditional fermented red bean curd vegetable casserole.
This was the best fermented red beancurd vegetable casserole I have had as it was not sweet or oily and the red bean curd was strong.
It might be a bit strong for others but I think this is how it should taste.

Spotted these cute Easter Cookies at La Bohéme Bakery.
There were Easter Eggs and Rabbits.
The rabbits looked a bit messed up as the rabbit eyes were not consistent or perhaps it was deliberate.
It was such a bummer I didn't take a picture as some were cross eyed, some were just weird.
Anyway got the Matcha Cookie which was much nicer and I thought I would match on some green tiles.
The cookie was thin and crisp with a slight buttery taste.
The icing sugar was quite good and complimented it nicely while the matcha flavouring wasn't too artificial.

I have always wanted to try this joint but they just serve regular coffee etc.
This time spotted Yuzu Mocha and Orange Mocha which were both captivating and made it hard to decide.
In the end chose the Yuzu because Orange mocha is rather common and you can imagine how it would taste.
The Yuzu Mocha was pretty good, it wasn't sweetened with a fragrant yuzu aroma to it and I think I could taste some savory notes to it as well.
Couldn't quite taste the chocolate but all good anyway.
Glad there is something new on the drink menu.
The environmentally friendly cups are quite stylish too.
