Herbal drink

To be honest I rarely get drinks from HTT.
Only went because I had a free drinks voucher for this herbal jelly drink.
I have tried herbal jelly before without sweetener and it just tastes bitter so I was expecting the same with this drink as it was made with similar ingreidients.
To my surprise, it tastes like the canned herbal jelly without the bitterness from that you get from tortoise jelly.

There has been so many trends in Hong Kong and whatever has trended has been put in drinks, bakery etc.
The Butterfly pea flower has now been found in bread!!
Tried the butterfly pea blueberry cheese bread from Paper Stone Bakery.
The texture of this bread is very chewy and crammed with lots of blueberries and cheese on the first slice.
Overall, I was very pleased with the bread because it had a good texture and it wasn't sweetened.
The only sweetness came from the blueberries so it wasn't overly sweet.

Recently went to CityU for food and I was really surprised with the variety of choices and they were popular with the students.
I went there specifically for the chicken leg with mash but when I ordered I didn't know there were other options as well so chose the salad by accident.
Although I made a mistake, the salad turned out better than I thought because it was just cucumbers with balsalmic drizzled on.
I like the way the menu hasn't changed much so this is one of the dishes that is there all the time as well as roast chicken.
The pork patty that was given (underneath the chicken) wasn't bad either.
On the other side, they have baked potatoes as well.
The pizza they serve was creative especially the presentation and it looks like those window display pizzas.

Comforting English Fare at Panda & Son

Found out about this new restaurant earlier this year so I have been wanting to try it.
You can't miss it if you pass by on the tram or bus because there is a huge pillar with a big panda with a blue background and flag.
According to their Facebook, they specialize in Sweet and Sour Pork and English style Chinese dishes so I just couldn't wait to go.
The menu has changed slightly and now they do pub favourites such as Fish and Chips, Curries and Pies.
It was hard deciding because all the dishes were my favourites but in the end I reduced it to Shepherd's Pie.
Then I had trouble deciding between sweet and sour chicken and the black bean fish.
Ideally I should have picked the fish because they use cod but I miss sweet and sour chicken so I had that.
I loved the plates as they are the typical plates you would find at home.
Both dishes came at the same time so it was such a big struggle in the sense what to put in my mouth first so I scooped them both on to my plate.
In the end, tried the Shepherd's Pie first and the potato mash was really cheesy and delicious and the lamb mince at the bottom was rich and satisfying.
The sweet and sour chicken was exactly how I was expecting it to taste because English style Sweet and sour has green peppers which you can taste infused into the chicken.
For drinks, I had breakfast tea which is the most basic tea before all the fancy teas like Earl Grey came into fashion.
Friend had the lemon and lime bitters.
Finished with the sticky toffee pudding which comes with ice cream however I requested for custard because custard is traditionally served with puddings, but I can understand why restaurants serve ice cream instead as it is quicker just to scoop it out.
The pudding was soft and sweet and I think it contains dates as well because you can really taste the sweetness from it.
OVERALL, I was really satisfied and will come back for lunch as they have the Fisherman's pie and Butter Chicken.

Hang Hau village is no big secret if you live there and there is a film studio nearby so the only way to get out is taking the minibus from Hanghau village to choihung or HKU.
I was in the area because of Uselect so went here for dinner before I went shopping.
There is quite a lot on offer but I opted for the Donburis.
Although I didn't get the grilled skewers I got the unagidon as the guy looked professional at grilling the stuff.

Started with the prawn soup which you can see is really strong.
It tasted like concentrated lobster bisque.
Both donburis were to my liking.
The portions were small but I strangely felt full afterwards and they give you freshly grated wasabi.
Personally I liked the salmon and salmon roe because they just taste delicious with rice and you get a piece of calamansi which you can use to make it more appetizing.
Will be back again for other stuff next time.

I have always wanted to try this drinks joint because the drinks are creative but rather pricey since the ones I wanted to try cost from HKD5x - HK60.However they do use top notch ingredients like almond milk etc.
The three that I was interested in were the pina colada, apple pie in a cup and the chocolate dream.
In the end, got the apple pie as the other two I could imagine how they would taste.
Requested the apple pie without the agave syrup because agave syrup is very sweet in taste even though it is good for your health.
I just don't like the taste of sweet things that much.
It had a very nice cinnamon taste but strangely it was cloyingly sweet even though there was no agave syrup and I couldn't taste any apples.

Spotted this joint because of its bright yellow decor and the name Cheese dragon.
When I got closer, the name read Golden Cheese Dragon.
On the menu, there was Korean snacks and Taiwanese drinks.
As it was hot that day, I only got some drinks.
I got the taro and sweet purple potato drink but unfortunately it was too sweet even though I asked for the least sweetness.
It was evidently made with taro powder and quite instaworthy.
As it was too sweet I got a hot sugar free assam tea to balance the sweetness.
The tea turned out ok.
I doubt I will be back but glad I tried it anyway.
