It was raining when I was in KB so spotted this restaurant while  I was sheltering from the rain.
The name was quite fun and the logo reminded me of this drinks joint so went in to check it out and see how super normal it was.
As well as HK, there is another Supernormal in Melbourne.

The menu was pretty good for Kowloon Bay with variety and the cocktail menu was impressive especially the Hua Diao cocktail.
I settled for the oyster soup because not many places serve it.
The last time I had it was at Cafe2 in Sai Ying Pun.
I liked the portion size of the soup because it was big and tasted as good as expected as it was blended with lots of oysters which you could taste.

Next were the Buffalo Chicken wings which were coated in this delicious tangy and fiery sauce served with real blue cheese sauce.
Each wing was deliciously crispy!!!

The mussels were creamy with lots of herbs.
I think I tasted some Basil in it.

The pork shanks were tangy and appetizing with a smoky BBQ flavour to it.
The meat came off easily.


Finished with the Hua Diao Cocktail which was to my liking because it was presented in a Chinese vase while and I loved the sweet tones of the cocktail.


The Mo Mo Cha cocktail had a touch of rose to it.

Will definitely be back as there is so much on the menu from fish and chips to roast chicken.

Big Sur is a Californian restaurant located on Staunton Street.
I have always wanted to try it so finally did one evening.
Unfortunately, the menu has changed so they longer have the cheese popovers
Had the asparagus which was my favourite as it came with lots of sourdough.
The salmon confit was also good because it was delicious smoked pink salmon complimented with Brussels sprouts and pickles.
Hopefully they will change the menu again and put the popovers back on.

Went here again because of the beef salad.

The slices of beef were succulent and tender and it came with lots of salad so it was quite filling yet light.

To be honest, I haven't been to these all you can eat restaurants for a long time and it has changed so much.

Firstly it is more environmentally friendly as you can order from the app.
(However they do have the order sheets for those who do not have smartphones).
Secondly, there is so much variety at TONO.

Not only was there Japanese food, there was Chinese food such as fish maw and abalone, herbal chicken feet soup and Sichuan pickled vegetable fish.

The Japanese food was good as expected so I decided to try the Chinese food to see if it was just as good.
I have to admit, I loved the coconut chicken soup and the abalone with fishmaw.
On the meat side, these were my picks, juicy lamb racks, chicken wings, grilled chicken wings and eel.
As well as ordering items to the table, the dessert bar and cooking stations had so much to offer like uni rolls, stir fried beef that will keep you busy the whole night.

Rest assured the dessert range does not disappoint with a wide range of desserts, fruits to icecream but I have decided to finish with plums and mangosteens as they are healthy and not many buffets offer it.




Since this visit, I've been wanting to go back again.

Glad Subway is popping up all over the place because TKT lacks a sandwich shop.Many years ago, there used to be HERO sandwich but that went.
Just had the bbq meatballs this time which were new and they were smoky and sweet.
The sauce was really strong and it is the same as the sauce you get for the sandwiches.
Also tried the branch at AsiaExpo but the prices are very different.

Stopped by Starbucks on the way to elements.
This branch does not have anywhere to sit but there are seats opposite.
Spotted this green sandwich which turns out to be Spinach salmon with cream cheese HKD29 so decided to try it.
Out of curiosity I just had to inspect it to see if the filling was uniformly distributed and the lettuce obviously wasn't!
I LOVE THE WAY HONG KONG CHEATS PEOPLE WITH THE PACKAGING SO THAT YOU CAN'T SEE THAT IT ISN'T FILLED ABOVE AND BELOW THE EDGES AS THERE IS CARD TO COVER IT.

There wasn't much cream cheese either.
Apart from the fillings, it was quite nice because the dill made it tasty but the sandwich was a bit dry.

Decided to make a trip to Foodium but the food was boring so just pondered into HM without the intention of getting anything.

Unfortunately, they had new musubis again and all three were stuff I liked, luckily only two of them were available.

Started with the Hiroshimana Greens with dried whitebait as it should be lighter in taste out of the two.
I loved the crunchy vegetables which were complimented by the aromatic black and white roasted sesame while the white bait gave it a nice savoury taste.
Moving on to the Spicy minced meat in Hiroshima style, I was surprised at how delicious this was because it tasted like a Chinese pork dish!!!!
If you look at the ingredients, it has Shaoxing rice wine, bean paste, five spice powder, Sichuan powder and Chinese seasoning!!!
The best thing was that the pork was finely minced and fresh so I will probably have this again.



Sadly, I am going to get HM again as they have LEMON CHICKEN which is making me curious how it would taste as a musubi!!
