Yoghurt Custard Mooncakes for 2019 at Kee Wah

At Kee Wah Bakery, they have yoghurt custard mooncakes for 2019!!!
What's good is that at the Flagship store in Wanchai, you can get freshly baked ones so you can buy them individually and decide which one you like.
The fruity ones are really cute with a choice of strawberry yoghurt custard or chocolate orange peel custard.
I was surprised how good they tasted especially the strawberry yoghurt custard as there were pieces of dried strawberries in it while the pairing of chocolate and orange peel never goes wrong.
They taste good at room temperature or even chilled.
At the moment, they are doing offers which are shown on the flyers.

It's a boner!

Fung Shing snacks has been around more than I have been around. This could be the only joint that gives you the pork chop bone if you order their pork chop sandwich or burgers.
I ordered the sandwich because Chinese burger buns are sweet.
Being excited about the bone I forgot to ask if the bun was buttered or had any other sauces because Chinese style sandwiches are a bit different and the sauces they use are a bit sweet especially the salad cream.

Anyway, I got the egg pork chop sandwich.
As expected, they cut the meaty part of the pork chop and put it in the sandwich and serve you the bone on top.
The fried egg was actually quite nice because it wasn't oily or had that nasty smell from the metal grill or pan that they used and the pork chop was not tenderized which meant the texture of the pork was natrual.
Overall, it was quite nice but I would prefer ketchup and not the sauce they used.

Affordable Happy Hour

I was intending to take my friend to this Sweet and  Sour joint in TST but they went here instead so I ended up coming here.

Luckily this place was nearby so I was able to walk over in 10 mins.
When I got there, it turned out to be a pub but then it would be being on Knutford Terrace.
Luckily it was happy hour from 6-9pm so drinks were cheaper.
For non Alcoholic drinks I got the tropical island which was only HKD35 so it was a  bargain as most places charge more for non alcoholic drinks.

They also have a mini DJ booth so I wish Miss Yellow was there.
Foodwise, it was also good especially the skewers.

For skewers I ordered the minced chicken, chicken wings, okra and tofu but when it came I was give leeks instead of the minced chicken.
Anyway, my favourite skewer was the tofu because they used the spongy one which has a lovely texture.
The wings were a bit dry and the okra was a bit salty.

Finished with the hot soba.

This was quite filling simplistic.
The only complaint was the crispy bits which were rancid.
Will definitely come back if I am in TST because soft drinks during HH are affordable.

Refreshing pasta

I am always at Hollywood Plaza so I was going to try this joint at some point.
Orchard Garden Cafe used to have a few branches in Kowloon but now this is the last surviving one,
Although the same sounds familiar I am not quite sure if I have visited the other branches.

They serve pastas, crepes, waffles and teas.
I remember these crepes used to be really popular a few years ago

Started with the blueberry tea which tasted strangely rancid which definitely has gone off.

The clams and tomato pasta fared better and it was actually really good especially the tomato sauce which wasn't lame sweet like other places.

The only complaint were the clams which were fishy.
It is rather difficult to get fishy clams so I wonder how long it has been in that state.
Finished with the banana split which I consider to be a luxurious one for HKD70 as it had three scoops of Movenpick icecream.

Overall, quite nice except for the synthetic cream which is why I didn't choose the crepes as it would be full of it.

Every now and then, Shanghai Lao Lao will have Sichuan dishes on the menu.
Tried their Sichuan delights a while ago so when I found out they were doing it again I was back for it because the crispy chicken is really good.
This time, the Sichuan delights are a bit different.

Noodles with boneless chicken in spicy Sichuan Sauce (served with sesame and peanut soup)
The noodles can be eaten in two ways.

If you eat the noodles on their own, they can be very spicy but if you put them in the peanut and sesame soup it becomes dandan noodle with a hint of spiciness.

Next were the Eight treasures in hot sauce.
It was eight items cooked together hence the eight treasures were chicken, chicken kidney, pork belly, dried beancurd, mushroom, green soybeans, shrimp and bamboo shoots.
Strangely I didn't find it spicy at all but it went well with plain rice.

The last in the spicy series was the chili chicken in Geleshan style according to the menu.
Each piece of chicken was crispy and delicious with spiciness to the max and a numbing aftertaste that was addictive.

Finished with the beansheets in sesame sauce which is a signature here.

For drinks, the wintermelon brown sugar drink is highly recommended because it has chunks of wintermelon in it and the drink has a prominent wintermelon taste.

If you love spicy Sichuan food, you can get your cravings satisfied here along with Shanghai delights.

Guaranteed CRUNCHY Chicken

Just felt like having fried chicken so went to Jollibee in Whampoa because I was in the area.
Ordered two pieces of fried chicken with fries and a drink for HKD40.
Unfortunately, they served Hong Kong style milk tea and it was as dark as coffee.
The taste was super bitter.
If I knew it was Hong Kong style drinks I would have got the a la carte.
As for the fried chicken, the coating was damn crispier than before as stated on the flyer which I didn't notice.
Honestly I prefer the fried chicken before when it wasn't so crispy but the sad people here love crispy chicken because if it is not crispy they think its not fried properly.
Same go for the retards complaining that English chips are not crispy.
The other piece of chicken was so dry and woody.
