A while ago I saw cute pictures of a Matcha Latte with a cute chocolate doggy so had to try it.

The product shot was the just like what I saw earlier posted by another person on SM so this had to be the drink.
There is a hot and cold, the hot comes with a chocolate dog while the cold comes with a marshmallow one as shown.

However, when it came, the dog was totally different.

They said it should be the cold one.
Anyway, I believe the chocolate dog is too expensive hence they are cutting the budget by using marshmallow instead.
ANYHOW, THEY SHOULD CHANGE THE PRODUCT PICTURE AS WELL.
THE TASTE WASN'T REALLY WORTH RANTING ABOUT AS IT WAS JUST THE USUAL MATCHA LATTE MADE FROM MATCHA POWDER WHICH IS ALREADY SWEETENED BY DEFAULT JUST LIKE STARBUCKS.
A waste of money!

[Review 7683] Freshly baked Taiwanese cakes @ 山田本舖 Yamada Bakery
26/08/2019
山田本舖 Yamada Bakery
太子太子道西108-118號康齡大廈地下C4號舖
Shop C4, G/F, Honland Building, 108-118 Prince Edward Road West, Prince Edward
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/freshly-baked-taiwanese-cakes-e3515248
Went past this tiny joint which was selling these cakes in gold boxes.
I thought it was Japanese but they were actually Taiwanese.
There is a schedule on the window so people can see when the cakes come out from the oven.
There are different flavours as well: pandan, chocolate and cheese from memory.
All I wanted was the pandan and they cost HKD60-75.
The pandan was quite nice and the texture was fluffy.
Quite nice as they were not too sweet.
I ended up eating more than I intended because it was quite addictive.

Tasty Taiwanese Wraps

Discovered this on the way to Prince Edward.
At first, I thought this joint served Taiwanese Roti which is oily and flakey but on a closer look, they looked like round pieces of fried naan bread with filling.
The frying oil looked clean so I was confident in giving it a try.
To be honest, I don't know much about Taiwanese food so I'll refer them as Taiwanese wraps for the time being as they look like wraps.
You can get them a la carte or with tea.
As a tea lover, I got the set.
For each wrap, there are different fillings and the signature basic one has just egg.
On the menu, they are all shown open so you can see the the fillings clearly but when they give it to you, it is folded over.
There were so many to choose from but clearly luncheon meat was my first choice as well as Taiwanese basil because it is very aromatic.
Sausages were not my choices as I only like English pork sausages!
They also have salted egg with minced pork which is tempting.
Basically they fry the wrap, put sauces on and stuff it with the ingredients of your choice.
At first I was put off when I saw those sauces because Hongkonized Taiwanese food is always too sweet but luckily it turned out normal.
It was a bit salty but damn delicious as the wrap was chewy in the middle and slightly crispy.
The ham and egg wrap was to my liking as it was like eating a thin crispy panini.
It also reminded me of the sandwiches at Taoyuen village which are non fried but flakey and crispy!
Taiwanese basil egg wrap:
Definitely a nice surprise with a runny yolk.
The bottle of tea has a stopper in the middle to prevent the teabag from gushing tea out but sadly I couldn't get the tea bag out afterwards as I wanted to see if I could get a second round out of it.
Will be back for the other wraps and I love their teas which are all cold brewed with tea bags.
Overall delicious but quite messy to eat.

Went here a while ago and was captivated by the rainbow tea.
Decided to go in and check the rainbow tea which turned out to be some berry tea.
In the end I got the ginger root tea because it was different.
The ginger tea was quite fiery but strangely artificial.
As the shop is quite small, there is a minimum drink per person!

[Review 7680] Just noodles @ 德昌魚蛋粉

德昌魚蛋粉
北角馬寶道1-3號國賓商場1號舖
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/just-noodles-e3515106
Went here randomly as I was hungry.
I wasn't expecting anything good as it is just the usual noodles with a choice of fishballs etc.
According to OR there is more than one branch.
Ordered the beef brisket noodles.
The broth was quite light and there were two pieces of radish as well as a few pieces of beef.
The beef wasn't edible as it was dry and hard.
The noodles were just the usual but tasteless.

Most drinks these days are priced between HKD2x to HK39 if it is something fancy, for straight teas from HKD1X - HKD3X.
This joint was serving the cherry with cheese for HKD45.
Cherry and cheese sounded totally weird so I just got the cherry.
I love cherries but it is evidently not popular in Hong Kong.
HEYTEA had cherry a while ago but I missed it so when I saw this place had it I was tempted to try.
HKD43 for tea in Mong Kok is a bit crazy but I still ordered it.
When I got the drink, I was satisfied they didn't use syrup.
It was blended with frozen cherries/puree of some sort.
The taste was quite pleasant with some Jasmine coming through as it was blended with tea.
Overall quite nice but not worth its price tag as the taste wasn't worth ranting about or even a second time.

As I was in the area, decided to try this drinks joints.
The taro milk tea with cream ended up really slushy as the ice was not blended properly.
The taste was ok and palatable but there were just too many pieces of crushed ice which was annoying.
