Since HM launched the six grains omusubi , I have been addicted to the vegetarian ones because they are tasty and nutritious.

As it was the end of the month,  I got the Konbu and Dadachamame again before they change the menu.

The six grains is more filling and satisfying.
Each mouthful was loaded with dadachamame beans and not overly salty.
The beans in it were starchy with a little sweetness.
I was so glad this joint was nearby in SPK as the food in this area is crap.

I doubt anyone would know this bakery which has been here for years unless you live nearby.
It is not on my walking path but I always see it when I am on the minibus.

Only went past it as I was in Ngau Tau Kok and decided to walk over to Kowloon Bay.
Went in and it was the usual Chinese stuff.
I was attracted by the iced gems (what we call them in the UK) but funnily enough they have them here too.
Anyway, as I was meeting my friends so decided to get them.
They probably taste the same, a crispy sweet biscuit base with a sugary icing!

8 Degrees are doing a summer buffet which I almost missed.

The highlights this time are the freshly cooked mussels in wine!


Foie gras from the live cooking station:
Oysters, lobsters and seafood are always there so don't fret!
The Chinese soup is a must as it is loaded with delicacies with a strong conch taste.

There were lots of English delights as I found items like: cauliflower cheese, mashed potato and cheese, pigs in blankets, Indian curries and bread pudding!
Moving on to dessert, they have freshly made durian crepes!

The dessert selection was definitely a delight as they had my favourite pandan cake as well as a lovely spread of Western cakes like strawberry cream cake and their signature mango mille feuille.

Despite the quietness in town at the moment, this place was full which is a sign of good food.
Will definitely be back.

As well as Thai style Hainan chicken rice, some restaurants in Thailand also serve fried chicken.

When I found out that this place had fried chicken I had to check it out.

The restaurant is located between Wanchai and Causeway Bay so it is a bit of a trek.

When I went in, I saw the fried chicken in the cabinet which meant the fried chicken was already done.

Ordered two noodles and the chicken combo:

The chicken looked good but the fried chicken was a bit cold and the coating wasn't crispy.
Although it wasn't crispy I was glad they didn't fry it again.
Apart from that the Hainan chicken was good but the rice was a little too soft.

Next were the noodles which were great especially their signature boat noodles.

The rainbow noodles were a little sweet for my liking.

Finished with the bittermelon soup which was to my liking as it was crammed with big chunks of bittermelon and pork.


Will be back for the fried chicken as it wasn't at its best that day.

Discovered this joint hidden somewhere at ladies market.
I was captivated by the Vanilla Rhubarb as it was English but then it was unavailable as expected because it probably wasn't popular with the locals.

For mains, had the grilled cod with miso.



The miso sauce was sweet as expected but overall the cod was good with natural oils.
Moving on, the skewers are really recommended especially the minced chicken as they make it themselves.

You get two skewers per portion
The minced chicken skewers were the best I have had because they don't put cartilage in it.
The chicken wings had a lovely cumin aroma with a perfectly grilled crispy skin.

It was good how they skewered it as the bones come off easily.

Finished with the juicy asparagus and bacon skewer.

For sweet treats and drinks had the purple potato milkshake and the purple potato mash with icecream.
The mash was served warm which contrasted nicely with the cold purple potato icecream.

The purple potato milkshake tasted good but it would be good if it was thicker for that milkshake feeling.

I am quite particular about my tea so only went here because they had the pandan pearls.
Ordered the Thai Tea latte because it had the Emerald pearls and the sweetness I chose was less sweet because most teas come out too sweet in Hong Hong.

Anyway, when it came, I took a sip without stirring, it turned out quite nice because it was pandan syrup at the bottom  which I am sure of.
Stirred the drink but as I had sipped some of the syrup it wasn't sweet enough.

As it wasn't sweet enough I asked if more sweetener could be added and they said they do not use sweeteners but if they didn't add sweeteners how I was I able to choose the sweetness in the first place and what what the sweet stuff at the bottom.
I think the guy was trying to say they do not use artificial sweeteners but they could have added more of the natrual sweeteners on request.

The tea was just ok but not worth it and the balls lacked pandan taste and they were very chewy.

Overall pretty difficult to communicate with the staff.

It's been a while since I last came to the KT cruise terminal.
The last time I was here they were giving out samples of food for people to try.
Obviously the location is a bit off the radar which makes a good place for gatherings and catching up with privacy!
It is also a wedding venue hence the surroundings are instaworthy.
They are now doing a lobster set dinner that starts from HKD288 which includes soup and salad, mains, dessert and drinks.



Soup and Salad:
Lobster Bisque and Lobster salad.

The bread given complimented the soup nicely.

For mains, chose the surf and turf and the lamb rack.
Both were meaty and delicious so it depends on your preference.
I definitely recommend the lamb as it is soft and tender.




Finished with the dessert platter which was a good assortment of light treats.

Overall a good get away as not many people go there.
