As there is no other branch in Hong Kong finally came here to try the notorious Bubba Gump.

Ordered the ‘run across America’ starter, a selection of prawns, and chicken, the quantity of prawn was more than expected.

As for the prawn rigatoni, there was lots of sauce, and the grilled prawns in that dish were naturally sweet.

Also ordered the stuffed shrimp, which was a rice pile in the centre of dish with butter sauce and cheese, the mashed fish was basically cod.

Despite the bad reviews, I didn’t feel the drinks were that bad at all, all the drinks came with a frothy top.

On a sunny day, the window side of the café can be a scorcher, so sat on the other end.

Ordered green tea with passionfruit, and Luscious Lychee a mix of lychee, cranberry and grapefruit.

The green tea, was room temperature as the waiter stated, not ice-cold, but just normal cold, and it was not syrupy sweet which was good, with a light taste of passionfruit, the tea’s here are not like the ones from the Taiwanese shops, they are much lighter and delicate.

As for the lychee, I was expecting the lychee to be fragrant with a syrupy taste, but it was not.
On the first sip, it was rather sour, then I could tastes the tones of grapefruit, then the cranberry, and then a faint taste of lychee. I though more lychee should have been added because it is called Luscious lychee, hence you would think it tastes mainly of lychee.

It would be good if they had other branches in Hong Kong, the juice selection is quite good, and they also have the soy selection.

[Review 501] 25/10/2009 Empty place with a loud customer @ 壽司派 Hip Sushi

I thought I had found a nice place for lunch, I was wrong, had this loud mouth sitting right behind our table, with this weird accent. Also there was a some promotion at the plaza too broadcasted on loud speakers.

Overall the food was OK, but there was no spoon given.

The crab warship wasn't as good as the one at Wo fa ting, the one at wo fa ting had more crab paste init.
Anyway the eel with egg was ok, except it had finely grounded bones with it.

I think I might come here again if it is quieter.

[Review 500] 25/10/2009 Butter Lettuce @ Essence

Located in Tung Chung, (considered as inconvenient for me!) I cant understand why it is always packed, even on weekdays.
I suppose the dessert selection is quite good, and the salad has quite a variety too, it has my favourite butter lettuce, not many places serve that.
As for sushi, it disappears very fast, the oysters are quite good.
The noodle bar is good when there is no queue, you select your choice of pasta, and the guy cooks it, one of the guys was quite cheeky, as I went twice, he asked me in away that he thought his cooking was not that good.

Wanted to come here for ages, but as is not located near the mtr, I only came here because I walked past it.
Located in a quiet place of TKO, not many customers there.
I was in rush, and the all chinese menu didnt help at all, later I found out they had English on the delivery menu, I was surprised the staff forgot they had the take-out menu and said there was no English.
Anyway as I was in a rush, I only ordered one piece of chicken.
The chicken was served on plate, quite greasy, lots of oil on the plate, cutlery was self service.
The chicken thigh i was was very juicy, and the oil was fresh, overall the chicken was good, if I had more time, I would of ordered more.

As I only like prawn dumplings, I ordered two portions, (no photograph) so ended up with 8 har-gau’s in the box, also ordered the glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaves.

I had pre-ordered the items via phone, so it was ready when I arrived, the only thing they forgot was the chopsticks.

The har-gau had too much lard in it and bit soggy, as for the glutinous rice it was not to soft and not too hard, the leaves were nice and dry.

I think this must be the smallest subway in Hong Kong housing a table of two!
Anyway, usually I have my subs toasted, but today I didn’t toast mine, I found it more moist and filling.
When it is toasted, the sub decreases in density almost by half, today I had ham with honey mustard sauce, and the whole sub was so moist and satisfying.
