I am not keen on Chinese snacks, so I did'nt try the dried nuts and fruits.
However, saw some interesting pastries in the cabinet, so tried those.
There were two types that both cost $2 each.
One was round in shape, the other was long and round.
The round one was called "yaat hau so" (bitesized puff), and the long one was called "muck dim so" (wheat dot puff).
I just knew they were both savoury, so asked them what the different was, and they said the round one was made with sesame, and the long one was made of spring onions and sesame.
To be honest, I do not like sesame, but I like sesame oil.
I feel that sesame dosnt have a function apart from its crunchy texture.
It also comes out of the digestive track undigested!
But anyway tried it for fun.
After paying, they asked me if I have tried it before, and of course I had'nt because if I had, I would know what they were.
Anyway, after replying no, the person at the shop said "After eating it, you will know (sick goh lei wui ji)"
I was left dazzled, what will I know...........?????
Did I miss out any words in his sentence??
So........
I will know its delicious??
I will know my future??
I will know my what??
Hmmm very interesting!!
Maybe its a Chinese fortune puff instead of a fortune cookie.
Anyway, the answer, the answer from the snack!
I broke the puff in half to take a picture, amazingly, I couldnt see any whole sesame seeds which was good because I dont like them.
As for the spring onions, there was one piece in it.
The dot must be the pink ink dot at the top of the puff.
I tried eating it, and was surprised the filling inside was grounded so finely that it was velvety.
The texture was similar to those chinese peanut things, that are dry, sandy and velvety.
Although the spring onions couldnt be seen, you could really taste it.
If it was less salty it would taste better, and they should be eaten fresh before the oil flavour takes over.
So the answer I got was......
I ate a puff, and I could taste real spring onions~

[Review 1144] Sugar free Grosvenor Momordica fruit drink @ 鴻福堂 Hung Fook Tong

Got this drink from Hung Fook Tong because it claims to be sugar free like many other "so called" health drinks.
It was truly sugar-free, the taste was pleasant with some bitter taste, but there was natural sweetness in it.
Next time I will try the other healthdrinks.

Got this cream soda shaved ice drink because I havent tried it in this flavour before.
The product shot was green, but I thought it was an old photo and the picture probably went green.
However when I got the drink, it really that colour, the product shot didnt lie!
Basically when the drink was made, it was ice crushed into fine pieces and put in the cup, the cream soda syrup was added to give it cream soda flavouring.
The syrup was dark green which gives it the bright green colouring.
The syrup bottle had thai letters on it.
Anyway, the drink didnt taste that good, the cream soda didnt taste like the usual ones, it was too artificial.

[Review 1142] Pandan Cheesecake @ 泰昌餅家 Tai Cheong Bakery Express

https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/pandan-cheesecake-tai-cheong-bakery-e2171801
Walked past and saw they had a new pandan flavoured cheesecake, so decided to get one.
When I found it, it was huge, enough for 4 people.
I suppose it was cheap for $38 for a huge cheesecake if you compared it with high end cakes for one that cost $25+
There were other potential customers that ended up not buying it because it was too big, especially with refrigerated cheesecakes.
After buying the cake, they offered to cut it for me, so I asked them to cut it into six slices.
There were two flavours Pandan Cheesecake and the Original Cheesecake.
These were Asian cheesecakes, the typical lemon coloured cheesecake with a browned surface.
The texture is light and spongy, not dense like the Western ones.
The taste of the cheese was light, same with the Pandan, although there was a slight hint of it in taste and smell.
The sweetness level was just right.
The colour of the Pandan cheesecake was lemon with a slight twinge of green in it.
Overall, the Pandan Cheesecake was nice, but the pandan flavouring could have been stronger.
It would be good if they could make smaller portions.

[Review 1141] Cute labelling! Read the finest Ultra FINE print! @ Phoebe's Treats

Walked past this cute shop on Queen's Road East, it was small but had lots of tins and boxes of cookies.
I found it colourful, and the various cookies had interesting names such as "Lemon Snowball".
I should have taken pictures there, but I was too busy trying out the cookies, I also forgot to take a picture of the cookie out of its packaging.
Anyway, there were lots of flavours, even tea cookies such as earl grey and iron buddha.
I tried most of them, and found they were strong in butter, which overpowered the rest of the flavours.
The Lemon snowball was also made of cookie, I was expecting meringue, probably because snowball gave me the impression it was white.
I got the Cranberry and pistachio cookies, which was also strong in butter, but at least I could taste the chewy cranberries and pistachio.
I liked their cookies and flavours but if the butter was not so strong, then the flavours would taste more prominent.
Finally the packaging was soooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a clear plastic box with wrapped cookies inside, at the bottom of the box was the labelling!
It was so cute, the print is even smaller than millimeters.
You need a magnifying glass to see it, also I had to set my camera in macro mode to take the picture!
Anyway, the printer that printed that is also good too, not many printers are able to print stuff as fine as that.

[Review 1140] Soups @ 薩莉亞意式餐廳 Saizeriya Italian Restaurant

https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/soups-at-saizeriya-e2171289
This time ordered the pasta in ink, prawn salad, garlic bread, minestrone and chowder soup.
Pasta in ink:
Always my favourite here, because the pasta is not too soft and al-dente.
There was a bit too much finely chopped garlic than usual, and there were more squid tentacles than the body in the pasta.
Garlic bread:
There was a choice of garlic bread with cheese, but I found it was just the same as the cheese one by adding Parmesan cheese powder to it.
Minestrone soup:
The menu showed thick tomato soup with lots of pasta in it, hence this was why I ordered it.
However when it arrived, it was watery and it was just vegetable soup and no pasta in it.
Not real minestrone if you’ve had real minestrone soup!
Chowder soup:This also didn’t taste nice, it was too sweet especially with too many diced onions.
Asian style chowder soup.
Overall the soups were cheap, the portion was so small, and the amount of soup in the bowl was so shallow, that the spoon hits the bowl when you use your spoon.
Although I didn’t like the soups there, I appreciated the other sweetcorn soup stated how it tasted on the menu.

Shop TST 1, Tsim Sha Tsiu MTR Station, Tsim Sha Tsui

This is a sliced cake from Maxim's it is also sold in other Chinese bakeries.
I found that the Maxim's one was much more firm, it had a strong butter smell too.
It was very sugary, just like the usual Chinese bakery, the usual sweet and buttery smell.
It must be the typical Chinese butter that they use.
