I have always wanted to dine here but they don't have the buffet on Saturdays so I had to make special effort to remember this place if I was in the area during the weekdays.
Finally went there on a weekday but got there late so I didn't really take any pictures.
The vibes there were really good because it was just like the UK and they offer buffet lunchboxes as well just like the UK.
The curries and rice were pretty good especially the chicken kadhai but there wasn't much left.

[Review 5149] Purrfect Easter @ DK Cuppa Tea

Had a lovely Easter at DK Cuppa Tea because they had this cat themed tea set.
It is like a picnic because all the food is in the basket, if you want a real picnic experience you can take the basket of food away and go somewhere.
(for more details ask the staff).
There is an area at the far back which offers a similar picnic experience.

As well as the tea set, there are various of fun games to play.
Hashtag to get a lovely cat mug.
There is a chance to get a free gift as well.

In terms of the tea set, I really liked the pancakes because the cat paws on it were really cute.

For savouries, they had my favourite sausage rolls with ketchup, pate with crackers and decent scones.

This tea set is definitely worth trying because it is quite different to the floral ones they had before.

[Review 5148] Ippudo international @ 一風堂 Ippudo HK

I havent been to Ippudo for a while and I was glad to see more variety on the menu.
They have included items that are available in other countries.
+++++++++++
Cheese tempura:
This was disappointing because it just tasted like dairylea in the middle.
+++++++++++
IPPUDO KARAKA:
wavy noodles in silky tonkatsu soup with spicy miso.
I love these wavy noodles which were thin and curly so it hung more soup to it.
+++++++++++
They used to have delicious pickled ginger but it is not there anymore.

[Review 5147] Beef paradise @ Lawry's The Prime Rib

Lawry's The Prime Rib

Shop 201, 2/F, Hutchison House, 10 Harcourt Road, Admiralty

Went to Lawry’s for dinner and I found myself googling about their steaks because the menu doesn’t explain much about the cuts of beef.
After googling, I got a better idea of the steaks.

The Hong Kong Cut (4 Oz)
The California Cut (6 Oz)
The English Cut (7.5 Oz)
The Lawry's Cut (10 Oz)
The Diamond Jim Brady Cut (16 Oz)

The waiters there could have been friendlier.
Anyway, the salad was quite nice but different because it had egg yolk in it.
The beef was good but some of it had some chewy membrane which was annoying and a waste of money.

[Review 5146] Luxury with privacy @ Luxury

This restaurant is well hidden with no windows so there is a good degree of privacy.

They have a dinner set where you can choose four to five courses.
Four courses cost $350/$395 depending on what you choose or five courses for $450.
Normally the portions are too small for me but surprisingly I was full with four courses.

Started off with a bread basket of squid ink and cheese, herbed bread, onion bread and sesame.
My favourite were the herbs and squid ink.

The first course was DIY salad which was fun because you get to add and mix the white truffle sauce yourself.

Then I had the lobster soup which had a strong cognac taste.

The first main was delicious squid ink pasta and red prawn which leaves your lips lovely and black.
This is a must order because the red prawn was sweet and delicious.

Finished with a coconut themed dessert that was memorable because the coconut icecream texture was a bit like cheesecake and there was so much coconut in it.
The coconut jelly tasted like coconut pudding and the coconut creme brulee was really good because it was not too sweet and there was so much dessicated coconut in it.

[Review 5145] Duck again at Ayam Penyet Ria @ Ayam Penyet Ria RIA Indonesian Restaurant

The food here is just as expensive as Chinese but forgiveable because it is an overseas franchise.
+++++++++
Bebek cabe hijau (green chili duck):
This time I tried the duck with green chili sauce which is similar to the smashed duck I had last time.
They were really thoughful and put the green chili on the side.
It is similar to duck confit but it is not so salty and the meat is consistently dry as the last visit.

+++++++++
Tamy tempe (smashed beancurd and tofu):

My favourite because the beancurd has this sour taste to it.
+++++++++
Sayur Asem (sour soup):

This is really disappointing because it tasted like Chinese borscht and it was a bit too sweet.
According to wiki, common ingredients are peanuts, young jackfruit, melinjo, bilimbi, chayote, sweetcorn, long beans, all cooked in tamarind-based soups and sometimes enriched with beef stock.

[Review 5144] What colour is steamed garoupa? @ 漁川米線 Shunde Cuisine

7, Tai Yuen Street, Wan Chai
https://www.openrice.com/zh/hongkong/review/what-colour-is-steamed-garoupa-e2559174

I have always wanted to try this place but there are too many good places in Wanchai that I keep deferring this joint.
Anyway I finally went.
Before I went in, I already had the red fish in mind.
When I went in I decided to ask about the fishes for fun and the lady recommended the one I wanted which is the most expensive so I played along with it.

[It is a typical thing that Chinese restaurants will recommend you the most expensive item]

I was a bit confused because the fish skin was not reddish orange and the texture was firmer than it should be for a garoupa.
The fish was scored and I think it ruined the texture.
The tomato broth was good though, there was a strong tomato and fish taste without bones.
