Hana musubi is my favourite brand for musubi and now there is a branch in East Kowloon.
I found it extremely amusing because no one went in to have a look and then when I went in to get something the whole world goes in it.
The same goes for empty restaurants, when people see me dining there alone they always have to come in!
Anyway, my favourite molten egg wasn't there so I got three new flavours.

Maitake mushrooms and vegetables:
This one was a bit bland but there were fiddleheads in it .
I didn't like the Maitake mushrooms because they were a bit hard.

Nozawana greens and hiratake mushroom:
This one was tastier than above with more greens in it and the oyster mushroom was nice and soft.

Hokkaido whitebait and walnut:
The pairing of whitebait and walnut seemed weird but it turned out to be the best tasting musabi out of the three because the walnut had a lovely nutty flavour which went well with the sweetness of the whitebait.

Walked past and saw that the noodles came from a fresh batch so I decided to get them and defer the sushi in my bag for later.

The noodles were soft and tasty with an even soy sauce flavouring.
Unfortunately I ruined the taste by adding the red sweet sauce, chili would have definitely been better.

I was in the area and got trapped because of the Tai Hang fire dragon dance so went here for dinner.

They serve a three course or four course set with hand dripped coffee or tea.
I settled for the three course and here was what I had:
Pan seared tuna and tuna tartar with yuzu dressing.
An interesting contrast of tuna done in two ways.
French Onion soup:
The soup had a lovely strong natrual sweet onion taste and the amount of onions in it was unbelievable.
Salmon Confit with white wine sauce:
I am not quite sure why it was called confit because it was slow cooked salmon.
To be honest if they didn't tell me it was slow cooked I wouldn't have ordered it.
The salmon was fantastic because it was soft and silky with a texture that was like jelly.
I was pretty satisfied with the three course but my friend had the dessert as the fourth course which was creme brulee cheesecake and vanilla icecream.

Went here for vegetarian dim sum and it was hard choosing what to eat because there were so many choices.

Many of the dishes contain nourishing funghi such as Matsutake mushrooms, porcini mushrooms, Elm fungus and morel mushrooms.

In the end, here was what we had:

Morel mushroom congee:

The congee was surprisingly creamy in taste yet it was light.

XO sauce porcini fried rice:

The fried rice was well balanced with the nuttyness of the asparagus contrasted by the earthy porcini mushrooms followed by a spicy kick.

Pan fried turnip pudding with XO sauce:

This is the reason I love vegetarian turnip pudding because it contained lots of turnip in it.

The XO sauce complemented it nicely and I think I tasted black beans in the sauce.


Elm fungus dumplings:

These dumplings were crammed with so much ingredients inside yet it held together really well when it was steamed.


Steamed red rice elm fungus and bamboo pith rice roll:

I found the rice rolls really tasty without the soy sauce but adding  soy sauce or XO sauce made it tastier.

Soybean milk:

The drink was not too sweet with a strong bean flavour to it.

Hoping to come again because there is too much to choose on the menu.

There is serious competition for burgers in HK these days.

I tried Big Fernand when they opened last year and I loved it.

They were known for small patties but now the patties have increased in weight to  compete with other burger joints.
On this visit, I didn't know they made the patties bigger so I ordered two because last time I had to eat two to feel full.

When I took a bite, I discovered the patties were bigger but still as tasty as before.
We ordered Le Victor and Le Bartholome.

Le Victor has a sweet touch with strong blue cheese in it while Le Bartholome has a smoky touch with a hint of cajun.

The fries were crispier with a seasoned coating which wasn't there previously.

The kids combo comes with a cute mini burger, fries and drink.

You can also get The Tasting combo which comes with three mini burgers of your choice, 2 French fries and 2 drinks.

Lemonade is the best drink to choose but the coconut water is a good choice too.

Tried this place because it was new and they had quite a variety of snacks.

The staff were quite keen promoting their snacks but I just wanted the noodles.
It was really good that they served the sauce separately from the noodles because the sauce was VERY SPICY so be warned and the sauce is very watery.

This noodle joint is very famous in Wan Chai and they don't offer seating.

Now there is a new branch with seating so I paid it a visit.
