The tortoise  jelly was bitter but it wasn't extremely bitter that you needed syrup.
Towards the end I put some syrup in because I didn't like that medicinal taste.

Went here again for a quick dinner.
Ordered the set which comes with a main, appetizer and drink.
For the appetizer I had Chinese radish in fish soup which is always my favourite. The broth had a strong fish taste and the Chinese radish was naturally sweet infused with a strong fish taste.
The Singaporean rice noodles were quite salty and spicy.
For drinks I had the coffee.

I was attracted by this braised duck dish on the menu so asked what it was and she said it was just braised duck which was very helpful.

Tried to order it but it was only available in the evening so I went for the chicken.

Just when I remembered to ask for breast meat it was already chopped so it was too late.

In HK, I prefer breast meat because there are no bones and the chickens here tend to be smaller and tender.

The soup was quite good, you could taste that it was chicken broth but the chicken itself was too bony and skinny for me to eat and the texture was a bit hard and stiff.
The rice was yellow but it does not have any special taste to it.

I love the Chinese name of this black thing, it is called chicken poop.
Previously tried them at Tai O but the ones here are stuck together and not as cute .
All I can say is that they were sweet and chewy with a grassy taste.

This spot used to be some other dessert shop but I can't remember what.
Anyway, I used to go to Hoi kee for the Hot grounded Pistachio paste which is now discontinued.
They had a new purple potato series so went in for that.
I was contemplating between the Mashed purple sweet potato and taro with herbal jelly in coconut soup or the Mashed purple sweet potato and taro with sago in coconut soup.
In the end I got the one with herbal jelly because I love herbal jelly but it turned out to be a very wrong decision.
The portion was big but the grass jelly was too sweet so it ruined the whole thing.
I wish I had chosen the other dessert with sago.

There is supposed to be an egg tart photo as well but the crappy pastry was too soft that you couldn't pick it up and it fell on the floor.
I was going to take a photo but the street sweepers were too efficient and cleared it right away.
The stuff tasted a bit off anyway, but the irritating thing is that they didn't accept 5 cents.
At first, shops weren't accepting legal one and two cents as tender, now they won't accept 5 cents.

Unfortunately I was in SK during the weekend when it is packed with bloody tourists.

Queues are long as usual, hence these photos were taken while I was waiting in the queue.
Finally it was my turn and I ordered the spare ribs and chicken feet rice.

As soon as I ordered and paid, these pricks behind just couldn't wait and pushed me out of the way to choose their stuff.
Anyway, I got my rice and it was as good as expected because the rice was really tasty infused with a delicious spare rib flavour and it was not too oily.
