Of all the restaurants at PP, it lacks Chinese dimsum. Dim Sum Library has landed in the right place because it is on the ground floor where most people will pass by.
From the outside, it looks like a hip place for drinks with golden birdcage inspired chairs.
Inside, there is a lovely Oriental outlook with a twist of Shanghai.
You will also find mahjong tables in the far back room and it feels like there is some Shanghai romanticism going on here.
Went here for dinner and started with this refreshing orange and passionfruit mocktail containing real fruit juice and it had a good fizz too.
This is what we ate.
Black truffle hargau:
Plump and springy hargau overloaded with black truffle and speckled with black truffle on the dumpling skin.
Black garlic siumai:
I got a surprise eating these because you will find chunky pieces of black garlic inside which give it a burst of sweetness. It jazzes up the siumai and makes it memorable.
These crispy Hokkaido King crab and sea urchin spring rolls were luxurious as spring rolls are normally filled with vegetables or prawns.
Looking like a radish puff it actually had melt in your mouth Wagyu beef inside with black pepper.
The Dan dan xiaolong bau is a very spicy one.
The Seared foie gras with osmanthus smoked coddled egg is going to be a popular one with that delicious runny egg yolk.
I loved the presentation of the aubergines which looked like Jenga bricks and the coating would trick you into thinking it was tofu inside.
The crispy aubergine was complimented nicely by the salted fish and Chinese chives on top.
The Yunnan black truffle crispy skin chicken was sensational because it was boneless and this would definitely go down well with rice!
The Iberico pork fried rice with sakura shrimps and fennel seeds was flavour overload for me because the sakura shrimps and fennel seeds had such complex flavours all coming out at the same time.
For desserts we had Lava mango rolls topped with almond.
The Lava chocolate mochi balls were the best because they are normally filled with boring peanut or sesame but chocolate works for me

Tried some dishes here which will be offered over the CNY period.
Started with a Braised Bird’s Nest Soup with King Crab Meat and Shredded Fish Maw which is kept hot by a candle.
It was loaded with lots of crab and fish maw.

We also had “Lo Hei” which comes from Singapore with Prawns, Scallops, Abalone, Smoked Salmon, Assorted Pickles and Sweet Sauce.
A great way to celebrate CNY with friends by mixing everything together with friends and saying good things for CNY.
Braised whole Boston Lobster with Mushroom and Chicken Broth is a must because the lobster here is springy and sweet.
The Fried Crispy Jumbo Prawns with Yuzu Sauce is a great treat for all ages because the sauce is sweet and appealing and the prawns are crispy.
We also had the Stone Casserole of Braised Jumbo Oysters with Honey and Black Pepper.
Each oyster was big and plump seasoned with fragrant black pepper and sweet honey.
For veggies we had this lovely lettuce dish cooked with dried prawns which had strong flavours.

[Review 5725] Spicy food @ 十二味熱辣火鍋莊 Andy's Hot Pot

There are so many branches of 十二味 in HK but this branch specializes in hotpots but there are not non hotpot dishes.
The grilled pigs brain seems quite interesting but I have already tried the brain omelette so didn't go for it this time.
As I didn't feel like having the hotpot, I got some dishes with rice.
The spicy shredded chicken was spicier than anticipated because there was chili oil in it as well as Sichuan spices.
The pigs tail were marinated and tasty but the texture was quite hard.
The smoked duck was really good, you can see the duck meat is still tender and slightly pink with a delicious salted taste.
For desserts, finished with the clear Sichuan jelly to cool down my palate.
The crispy chewy Sichuan style mochi was very satisfying.

I was so glad I went to Bariuma because they had this new soupless ramen which is mixed with their homemade sauce and fragrant spring onion oil topped with diced chashu, cucumber and an onsen egg.
Also had the ramen in broth which is delicious as the broth is rich and thick.
Sadly every time I come here I always forget to order the chicken chashu which comes in chicken broth so I ordered and extra chicken broth to try.
It tasted like Western chicken soup and is thick as well.
The gyozas have a crispy skirt with fragrant chives inside complimented nicely by the dumpling sauce.

Just for the Dutch pancakes

Every since I saw pictures for the Dutch pancakes (pannekoek) I said to myself I have to go and try it so I did.
I don't think any where else in HK offers Dutch pancakes except Wired Cafe which serves the Dutch Baby that are slightly different.
I planned to order two different Dutch pancakes but the Dover Sole fish ruined my plan because it is one of my favourite fishes.

The Dover Sole is a European fish which I always eat in the UK but in HK it costs a bomb! Some restaurants serve it for $7xx but here it only costs $148.Thanks to Brexit, it is much affordable and you can get them at 759 but considering the size of the fish and tiny kitchens in HK, I decided not to buy it because my kitchen and frying pan is not big enough to cook it and I don't want to slice it in half.
In the end, I ordered the Dover sole and Avocado pannekoek.Other captivating panneokoek choices include lamb and cumin or salmon and dill.
+++++++++
Avocado pannekoek:
The pannekeok was huge as expected and you roll it up to eat.
Basically I felt it tasted like a Savoury British pancake with creamy avocado and zesty sundried tomatoes so I liked it pretty much.
+++++++++
The Dover Sole was delicious with a crispy surface and it tastes so good on its own that it doesn't really need any seasoning.
A lovely versatile fish that doesn't go fishy with a reasonable shelf life in the freezer.
The best part is the roe so don't throw it away.
+++++++++
After having such a delicious dinner, you can grab some sweeties before you go and they reminded me of the sweets at the newsagents in the UK.
